Houston’s largest police union, citing the death of six officers during Mayor Bill White’s tenure, called on the mayor and City Council this week to hire more officers, restore $14 million in overtime pay and overturn the long-standing policy of not questioning residents about their immigration status.
In a letter to White, Gary Blankinship, president of the Houston Police Officers Union, called last week’s slaying of veteran officer Henry Canales a “trifeca failureâ€

Newly elected District H Councilman Ed Gonzalez, who appeared with White at his City Hall news conference, said residents of his district are concerned about crime, not about the citizenship of criminals.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Yes Mayor White, Citizens do commit crimes but Houston Police Officers, U.S. Citizens, are dead because ILLEGALS were in the Houston; if they were not in Houston ILLEGALLY the Police Officers would be alive.

So the police union doesn't want to arrest criminals. That's nice.
They know it's a crime right or have they been fooled by Napolitano?

He said even if they had permission to ask about immigration status all of the illegals have REAL Texas drivers' licenses. There is no way to prove they are not legal when they claim they are and even have a State license.
Houston, we have a problem, a big problem. While we all sit back and wonder if the illegals are going to take over, they already have taken over Houston. The sad part is American citizens and taxpayers aren't doing anything about it. It's honestly sad to think about all the people in tis country's history that have fought and even died for what we have. Generations of my own family have paid the price only to see the majority of Americans just lay down and give away everything. I am truly sad.Certified Member

We ALWAYS have a choice. The choice sometimes just may be to roll over and stay silent, or voice our opinion.
We need to speak up more and get out of this victim mode of thinking we can't do anything about it so why speak up. There is always choice.
Speak up. Send emails. Make phone calls. Send faxes. Write letters. If people can get on this website and write responses to all these news items they can call, fax, email.
