EDINBURG - Twenty-one illegal immigrants taken from a Hidalgo County home this morning remain in federal custody. That's according to a Border Patrol spokesperson.

Hidalgo County sheriff's deputies helped in the raid with extra manpower. Edinburg school district officials say a lockdown at nearby schools was done as precaution, after Border Patrol alerted them to operation.

Border Patrol agents tells us it's standard practice for agents to contact local school administrators when they're working a case near a school.
