Crimes committed by illegal immigrants dropped by 18.5 percent from 2007 to 2008 thanks to law enforcement’s hardline against those in the country unlawfully, said Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas on Sunday.
A study by Thomas’ office shows the amount of illegal immigrants sentenced for felonies in Maricopa County Superior Court dropped from 4,731 in 2007 to 3,855 in 2008.
That’s an 18.5 percent drop, more than double the 8 percent reduction in overall crime, Thomas said.
Put another way, 18.7 percent of the people sentenced for felonies in Maricopa County Superior Court in 2007 were in the county illegally. In 2008, only 14 percent of that group were illegal immigrants.
Thomas said the reductions “have not been nearly as dramatic for murders and sexual assaults, but that also can reflect the fact that those cases take longer to process by the court system.â€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Maricopa County Attorney Says Crime Sweeps Are Working

PHOENIX -- His controversial crime sweeps have gotten mixed reviews for years, but Sunday Sheriff Joe Arpaio got a big thumbs up from the County Attorney's Office.
MaricopaCounty Attorney Andrew Thomas told CBS 5 illegal immigrant crime rates in Maricopa County are way down. It just so happens the program Thomas says is bringing those numbers down is getting the ax.
Thomas said, "The crackdowns on illegal immigrants are working." Thomas said the number of illegal immigrants sentenced for felony crimes has dropped nearly 19 percent in the last year.
Thomas said, "This is the latest evidence the population of illegal immigrants in Maricopa County is shrinking because of law enforcement crackdowns ."
Thomas said those controversial crackdowns and the man behind them, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, deserve major credit for the crime drop.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said, "It's a crime deterrence program too, not just how many people you can arrest ."
Sheriff Arpaio agrees, but it turns out he won't be able to arrest illegal immigrants on the streets like he's been doing.
It was just a few days ago the Sheriff announced Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials pulled the power for his field deputies to arrest illegal immigrants solely for their status.
It's called the 287-G agreement. Now Arpaio can only check immigration status at the jail.
Thomas said, "The loss of the 287 G authority was not a helpful thing in the fight against illegal immigration."

The traitors don't want the programs to work, it is because they work that they are getting the ax.

They're trying to stop Sheriff Joe because they know every Pro-enforcement activist is definitely going to point to how it has benefited Maricopa County.
