Well, Judy--it's going to be REALLY bad if they don't commit to training a WHOLE LOT more border patrol agents because don't forget where our NATIONAL Guard is. They are temporarily unavailable. And it might be LONG-TERM temporarily! So, they should take advantage of any help they can get and I was impressed with Mr. Bonner's willingness to accept volunteers---UNTIL the powers that be heard his statement and Chertoff came out and said that would not happen.

I really, really don't get it. They see what has just happened--not once, but twice--in London and they STILL don't realize that checking every 5th person who gets on a subway in New York is NOT going to even BEGIN to solve this problem. NO WAY in this world.

So 600 hours if consecutive like in a boot camp style training would be how many weeks? Are "weeks" 40 hours? If 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, this would be 15 weeks of training...or almost 4 months once they hire them and arrange for their classes and since the they don't have the money to do it this year, the earliest would be October funding 2006 with training starting in 2007.

2 years too late to save the United States and the American People.

So...hmmmm....I guess it boils down to Citizens without any training.

Well, it appears that the argument is moot anyway because they aren't going to hire them. Don't forget--Jorge didn't budget but for 200 extra agents, the Senate voted in SOME more in the budget. Do you know if the House has voted on that yet??? The 9/11 Commission recommended 2000 a year for a total of 10,000 over the next 5 years. Isn't it interesting that, when Jorge WANTS something that the 9/11 Commission recommended, he plays that card to the max but, when it's something like OFFENDING his AMIGO, he cuts the number to 10 TIMES less than recommended????

Bootsie, don't know about the House. It was my understanding that it died in the Senate as this was an appropriation bill and the Senate is the last to approve it. Then it goes to "conference committee" to whittle out the differences and execute a budget. From I sense, it's over on that one and we will remain unprotected on the borders....which of course is the objective of the US Government as it wants open borders and what the US Government wants, it gets.

Unless something is done to stop it.

I guess we need to research this one. If it died, we need to start another letter writing campaign to revive it.

It just never ceases to amaze me that these people who are supposed to be representing us have just abdicated their responsibility to protect this country.

As Bill O'Reilly says, it's going to take someone getting across our southern border and blowing up Texas to wake them up.

In my opinion, there is no waking up of the White House or US Senate. They are gone...there is still some hope in the House to do something, but not with that bill. They have plenty of time to add it to other appropriation bills, but they will be killed in the Senate. The Senate is Open Borders.

If somebody gets in and blows up Texas, they'll just make plans to rebuild it...like the WTC in New York....and won't even close the border then. If 9/11 didn't wake them up, they won't give a HOOT about Texas.

We also know from 9/11 that if somebody does blow up Texas...this President will just sit there, gather his thoughts and then high-tail it to the sky and some bunker without EVER asking, "is it nucular and do I need to active the National Missile Defense System".

WE are in extreme danger because for the first time in American History absolutely no one cares about our safety. They talk about it; but as they speak....they know it's just a deception because they have NO INTENTION of doing anything to keep anyone out.

They are just trackers. They are tracking this Muslim and that Muslim, but there is no reason to believe that the next incident will be carried out by Muslims or even Arabs or absolutely no reason to believe they will catch them before it happens.

Security isn't tracking after it happens.

Security is security the borders and removing all illegals. Yes, it could be carried out by a legal alien....but you reduces your risk by securing the borders and removing the illegals. Then you hone in on legal aliens and those with some reason to believe they are suspect, then just pull the visa and send them home. Why take the risk? It's not like we need people. We've got more than we can sustain successfully as it is.

The US Government doesn't give a HOOT about security. It's just a lot of talk to justify doing things that are either inappropriate; violations of our rights; reasons for huge expenditures that benefit contractors; and justification for ending the US through the Security and Prosperity Partnership Pact and creating the Big Hemisphere Nation.

It's disgusting. It's repugnant. And I'm really upset about it.

NUCULAR!! LOVE IT!! It DOES look like, after all the ribbing he's taken about the way he pronounces "NuCLEAR", he could have had just enough BRAIN to practice saying it right! WHAT A BUFFOON!! And, don't forget--they have to hide out Cheney before they even BOTHER with the PResident. That speaks VOLUMES to me. Does that tell us who is the most important person in that administration????????? I'm POSITIVE he was in his bunker while Jorge was still reading to those kids.

You know--I KNOW this will sound like discrimination or profiling but those Japanese concentration camps in California during WWII could still be very effective for illegal Muslims AND Hispanics. Maybe it IS the funding that is preventing ICE from going after all these people but I have an idea that it's a lot deeper than that. I think they are INSTRUCTED not to go after them. And, you know, if local law enforcement is forbidden to even ASK if someone is here legally, they are making NO effort to get rid of them.

The Senate does appear to be a lost cause. We KNOW the White House is a lost cause. Are we fighting a losing battle??
