I.C.E. to resume workplace and neighborhood raids in CA. next year
ICE threatens 'at-large arrests' after California passes sanctuary city law
[COLOR=#636C72 !important]by Anna Giaritelli | Oct 6, 2017, 3:19 PM
The Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency rebuked Gov. Jerry Brown, D-Calif., on Friday for enacting a statewide sanctuary law for illegal immigrants, and said the decision will prompt a higher number of raids that target that population.
"Governor Jerry Brown's decision to sign SB54 and make California a sanctuary state for illegal aliens – including those who have committed crimes – will undermine public safety and hinder ICE from performing its federally mandated mission. The governor is simply wrong when he claims otherwise," acting ICE Director Tom Homan said in a statement.
"ICE will have no choice but to conduct at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at worksites, which will inevitably result in additional collateral arrests, instead of focusing on arrests at jails and prisons where transfers are safer for ICE officers and the community," Homan added. "ICE will also likely have to detain individuals arrested in California in detention facilities outside of the state, far from any family they may have in California."
The new state law was signed into law Thursday and prevents law enforcement in any jurisdiction of the state from asking people about their immigration status. It also prohibits state and local officers from responding to ICE requests to detain an illegal immigrant who has been arrested for committing a crime for 48 hours until the person can be transferred into federal custody.
"It also bans unconstitutional detainer requests and prohibits the commandeering of local officials to do the work of immigration agents," Brown wrote in a statement about the California Values Act.
However, Homan said the decision will "negatively impact" the agency's operations in the state to such an extent that ICE may incidentally arrest others who would not initially be targeted as they conduct enforcement operations of criminal and noncriminal illegal immigrants.
"Despite the severe challenges that this law creates for ICE, we remain committed to our public safety mission and we will continue to do our sworn duty to seek out dangerous criminal aliens and other immigration violators. ICE seeks straightforward cooperation with all sheriffs and local elected officials. This misguided legislation will severely undermine those efforts," Homan added.

ICE Threatens to Terrorize California Immigrants in Retaliation for Sanctuary Law

California Governor Jerry Brown signed a law on Thursday turning the entire state into a “sanctuary” for undocumented immigrants.
This means that virtually no authorities in all of California are allowed to cooperate with federal immigration agents seeking to locate undocumented people.
On Friday, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency’s acting director, Thomas Homan, responded to California’s new status by claiming that not only would the law endanger ordinary residents, but that ICE would now be forced to arrest innocent people as a result.
Here’s Homan’s full statement (emphasis mine):Governor Jerry Brown’s decision to sign SB54 and make California a sanctuary state for illegal aliens – including those who have committed crimes – will undermine public safety and hinder ICE from performing its federally mandated mission. The governor is simply wrong when he claims otherwise.
SB54 will negatively impact ICE operations in California by nearly eliminating all cooperation and communication with our law enforcement partners in the state, voiding the delegated authority that the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has under the 287g program, and prohibiting local law enforcement from contracting with the federal government to house detainees.
ICE will have no choice but to conduct at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at worksites, which will inevitably result in additional collateral arrests, instead of focusing on arrests at jails and prisons where transfers are safer for ICE officers and the community. ICE will also likely have to detain individuals arrested in California in detention facilities outside of the state, far from any family they may have in California.
Ultimately, SB54 helps shield removable aliens from immigration enforcement and creates another magnet for more illegal immigration, all at the expense of the safety and security of the very people it purports to protect.
Despite the severe challenges that this law creates for ICE, we remain committed to our public safety mission and we will continue to do our sworn duty to seek out dangerous criminal aliens and other immigration violators. ICE seeks straightforward cooperation with all sheriffs and local elected officials. This misguided legislation will severely undermine those efforts.
Homan—who has previously insisted that every single undocumented immigrant should “look over your shoulder” and “be worried”—appears to be promising overt retaliation against California’s entire immigrant population, criminal or not, as a result of the new law. Not only should undocumented immigrant communities expect “collateral” (read: random) arrests, but ICE will also be shipping detainees out of state.
The threat seems clear: California passed a law which ICE doesn’t like, so the agency will be taking its frustration out on innocent people as a result.

The democrats think they are so smart pandering to their illegal aliens.
What they don't realize is that they just stuck there foot up their own ass.
I can see it now, all the whining and protesting ICE doing large scale work raids
and banging on doors at 3:00 AM. terrorizing little Innocent children that are here at no
fault of there own.
They will also protest having to leave the state to see friends and family members that have been
arrested or detained.
I remember back in the 90's, I worked in the garment district and work site raids were frequent.
I thought it was great and amusing to watch.... ICE pulls up in the vans and within minutes you see
hundreds of illegal aliens running in all directions.
Well Jerry Brown...... look who's laughing now!Last edited by lorrie; 10-07-2017 at 07:08 PM.

This may get interesting. So much for them caring about the safety of their citizens, they seem more concerned about protecting illegals. Please I.C.E., come help clean up this state.
