When it comes to a discussion of the pathway to citizenship for undocumented workers in the United States, the paths of Michael Olivas of the University of Houston and Vernon Briggs of Cornell University do not cross often.
Olivas and Briggs agreed to disagree on just about every aspect of existing immigration policy and proposed reforms during their appearance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s E.N. Thompson Forum Wednesday night.
Olivas, the author of 12 books, holds the William B. Bates Distinguished Chair of Law at the University of Houston. Briggs is a professor emeritus at Cornell University who specializes in human resource economics and public policy.
As an audience of at least 500 listened at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, Briggs spoke out strongly against offering the equivalent of amnesty to an estimated 12 million people who are in this country illegally.
“That only guarantees that we will be dealing with a problem in another 10 years of the same magnitude or even worse,â€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

yes they are going to have to leave beacuse this nonsense that has been perpetrated on our country is all about demographic hegemony. I don't need to live with Spanish! It's insane. There is no ethical, moral and justice in allowing a sunami of foreigners here illegally to impose their culture and language on us. Have some of us lost their minds?
