Polish man sentenced on fraud, immigration charges

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - A Polish immigrant has been sentenced to nearly nine years in prison on federal bank fraud and immigration charges.

Thirty-7-year-old Adam Kaminski, was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Davenport. A news release issued by the U.S. attorney's office says Kaminski was convicted on one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and unlawful entry after deportation.

Kaminski, who is originally from Poland and once lived in Chicago, also was ordered to serve five years probation after he is released from prison and pay more than $31,000 restitution.
