ICE Agents Picking Up Undocumented Immigrants at Nashua Court

A recent spate of arrests at the Nashua District Court has undocumented immigrants on the lookout.

According to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, federal agents have approached between 20 and 25 people there over the last two months. Some have been detained.

Immigrant rights advocates worry that ICE’s strategy will ultimately discourage people from showing up in court.

NHPR Correspondent Simón Rios reports.

When he appeared at court to settle a traffic violation, Juan Valdez and his mother Gloria had no idea they would end up in federal custody.

“When I was sitting down in the court there was this guy keep on walking back and forth, looking at me. I asked myself what was going on. After I went downstairs I saw the same guy looking at me again.â€

Wow, police actually doing their jobs. What a refreshing surprise

We need to see much more of this. Not to thrilled to see valdez and his mother released however. They should be sitting in mexico about now.

Gloria Valdez accuses the agents of verbally abusing them, calling them criminals and dogs.

Yeah, right, does anyone really believe the arresting officers called them dogs?

These people must really think we're stupid. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but I seriously doubt it did. I think the lady is just attempting to draw sympathy.
