ICE deports international fugitive wanted for rape in Mexico

MIAMI - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Wednesday deported Rafael Alvarado-Reyes, 24, wanted by Mexican law enforcement authorities for rape.

Alvarado-Reyes, a Mexican national, was turned over to authorities in Mexico.

On Feb.17, 2005, the First Instance of the Tenth Judicial District of Guadalcazar, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, issued an arrest warrant for Alvarado-Reyes, charging him with rape.

On June 20, 2010, Alvarado-Reyes was arrested by the Homestead Police Department in Homestead, Fla., and charged with a hit and run and no valid driver's license.

ERO Miami coordinated the removal of Alvarado-Reyes with the ICE Attaché office in Mexico City and the the Mexican ProcuradurÃ*a General de la República.

Alvarado-Reyes had entered the United States on an unknown date at an unknown location without permission.

The ICE ERO Miami Field Office effectuated his removal to Mexico.
