Colorado Springs business, the Immigration Center, has been banned from engaging in deceptive trade practices. The company has allegedly scammed thousands of consumers.
According to a complaints, the Immigration Center advertised itself as being able to help immigrants obtain and complete various immigration forms. However, only after consumers paid $300 to $700 did they realize they were not dealing with a government agency.
The Immigration Center, located at 2928 Main Street Suite 100, also did not have attorneys or anyone with expertise in immigration law. The business forwarded forms to those who paid, but those immigration forms are readily available for free from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The fee the business charged was roughly the same amount of money as the government would for processing the immigration forms. Therefore, consumers thought the fees would grant their citizenship or a change in their immigration statuses.
