LEBANON — Federal immigration officials say they arrested 25 people during operations in the Lebanon area this week, including what they called four “illegal aliens” who were detained as part of a daylong Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 89 on Thursday.

Of those apprehended, 24 were undocumented, while one was a U.S. citizen who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, according to a news release issued by Border Patrol on Friday evening. The release did not name the people charged.

Agents arrested undocumented immigrants from Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Russia who were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for removal proceedings, the release said.

Seven of the people arrested were charged with re-entry after removal, a felony under federal law.

Officials said they also made several seizures of marijuana.

Border Patrol officials previously had said 14 people who did not have immigration documentation that allowed them to enter or stay in the U.S. legally were arrested in the Lebanon area in the two days before the checkpoint was deployed.
