ST. LOUIS - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents on Tuesday seized 2,300 pounds of marijuana from a tractor trailer parked on Interstate 44 near St. Louis.

ICE HSI agents observed a tractor trailer pulled over on the side of the road, outside of Pacific, Mo., on July 12. The 18-wheeler was parked facing westbound on Interstate 44 when agents approached and received consent to search the vehicle.

Once inside the vehicle, ICE HSI agents located a hidden compartment where several dozen, large burlap bags were found. Upon inspection, the bags were discovered to contain marijuana with an estimated street value of more than $2 million. The tractor trailer and marijuana were seized.

Since this is an ongoing investigation, no further information can be released at this time.
