    Jose Alberto Guadalupe-Ascencion, 30, of Norristown, Pennsylvania, was charged by indictment that alleges on or about Dec. 3, 2015, Guadalupe-Ascencion, an alien, and native and citizen of Mexico, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States.

    Pennsylvania man sentenced to 5 years for $3 million UPenn fraud scheme
    Kenneth Kapikian, 58, of Wayne, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty June 10, 2015, to six counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. His co-defendant, Dennis Gagliardi, of Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to four counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

    According to the court documents, a minor found a camera hidden underneath the sink in Kevin Rebbie’s, 56, bathroom. The Limerick Township Police Department was contacted and a search warrant was later executed on Rebbie’s home.

    Former Houston-area teacher sentenced to more than 8 years in prison for receiving child pornography
    Scott Burns, 46, of Alvin, was sentenced to 97 months in prison and to 12 years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Lynn N. Hughes. Burns will also be required to register as a sex offender. He pleaded guilty to the charges May 18.

    ICE removes convicted airline hijacker to Lebanon
    Saado Mohamed Ibrahim, 47, of Lebanon, was convicted of air piracy and sentenced to 20 years in prison on Aug. 18, 1997 after forcing his way into the cockpit of Iberia Flight 6621 en route from Madrid to Havana July 26, 1996, and threatening to blow it up.

    DEA Eases Requirements for FDA-Approved Clinical Trials on Cannabidiol


    DEC 23 (WASHINGTON)


    The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) recently eased some of the regulatory requirements imposed by the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) for those who are conducting FDA-approved clinical trials on cannabidiol (CBD), an extract of the marijuana plant. These modifications will streamline the research process regarding CBD’s possible medicinal value and help foster ongoing scientific studies. The DEA notified affected researchers by letter of the changes, which take effect immediately.
