Racial profiling legal says AZ prof

Racial profiling legal says AZ prof

One of the go-to experts in the SB 1070 debate has been Professor Gabriel Chin at the University of Arizona.

In Tuesday’s Washington Post, Chin and University of California Davis Professor Kevin Johnson argue that the U.S. Supreme Court and the Arizona State Supreme Court have allowed racial profiling when it comes to immigration enforcement. (Read their essay here.)

According to the professors, “Supporters and opponents of SB 1070 assume that racial profiling is unconstitutional, largely because many Americans believe that it ought to be. In fact, the U.S. Supreme Court has approved the racial profiling permitted – indeed encouraged – by SB 1070.â€

    Racial profiling

Arizona has a majority Hispanic population. How can pulling over a hispanic for a traffic violation be profiling?

It is a sad time in this nations history. The Federal Government willfully REFUSES to do its duty to protect citizens and now is trying to stop the States from protecting citizens too. Who will be there for us?

That is not true not even New Mexico which has a larger per centage has a Hispanic majority population.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

    Racial profiling

OK, I misspoke, or typed. Sorry. Maybe I should have referred to the Border areas of the State of Arizona.
Just looking around here in Texas, the number of Hispanics has EXPLODED in recent years. I have to wonder how old your stats are and how do you know all illegal hispanics were counted? Do we assume they all answer the census survey and do it honestly?
