'Massive' march planned by pro-immigration camp

    Feb. 22, 2007 12:00 AM
Pro-migrant activists plan to hold a "peaceful but massive" march May 1 in Phoenix, where they will call for immigration reform.

Up to 10,000 people are expected to demonstrate, organizer Lydia Hernandez said.

The buildup to the May event will include community forums about the state and federal lawmaking process, Hernandez said. With the education, the marchers should be informed and open to civic participation, she said.

In April 2006, more than 100,000 people marched for immigrant rights in Phoenix. Hernandez said the crowd estimate for the upcoming march is low and may be adjusted.

Let them march, it will only enrage more Americans just as the last two marches did. In a sense, they are only doing more for our cause.

    You're absolutely right, Sippy.

Nothing gets patroits off couches and out of recliners faster than seeing thousands of illegal aliens marching through US streets demanding citizenship.

ICE needs to check the status of everyone there. Just to catch the "criminals".

Every time they march like this they cost their cities a lot of money in extra police protection. The mayors should send these organizers a big bill.
