I was reading our local police beats and came across this little paragraph at the end. Had to read it twice. The town is only a half hour away from me.

WAUKEGAN

WARRANT ARREST: Cartez Goodwin, 20, was one of three men in an apartment building hallway at 2725 Glen Flora Ave., when a dispute broke out recently. Goodwin gave a false name to police and when they found out his real name they discovered he was wanted on a warrant for retail theft. He was also charged with obstructing a peace officer, police said.

BURGLARY: A resident in the 500 block of Lorraine Avenue told police recently that he heard his dogs barking and looked outside to see a man inside his truck. He ran out after him, but was unable to catch him. Both of vehicles were in the driveway unlocked and a debit card was missing from a 2003 Escalade, police said., The suspect left a pair of gloves inside the pick-up truck, which he fled when the resident came out, police said.

THEFT: The owner of a business in the 2700 block of Wadsworth Road reported to police recently that someone entered a fenced area of the business and removed heavy duty jumper cables and a brass cutting torch, together valued at $300.

ROUND LAKE BEACH

Obstructing: Ralph Coari, 54, of 21937 Sarah Drive, Lake Villa, was charged with obstructing justice for refusing to identify himself to police following a traffic stop last week.

RETAIL THEFT: Mickel Dennison, 35, of 30 Cedar Ave., Lake Villa, and Melanie L. Leisten, 35, of 24903 W. Oak, Lake Villa, were arrested and charged with retail theft following an incident at Super Kmart, 400 East Rollins Road.

UNDERAGE DRINKING: Amber Goebelt, 19, of 21860 W. Engle, Lake Villa, was arrested along with a 16-year-old boy following a traffic stop last week. Goebelt was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol, police said. The boy was charged with curfew violation and unlawful consumption of alcohol, police said.

PROSTITUTION: Jessica Shirley, 32, of 1319 N. Channel was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and prostitution following a drug investigation at Big Lots, 400 East Rollins Road.

ASSAULT: Michael Levitt, 45, of Port Orange, Fla., was charged with assault and operating an uninsured vehicle following a disturbance last week inside Lake Jewelry and Loan, 796 E. Rollins Road, police said.

DRUG ARREST: Erick Murray, 38; Andrew Robinson, 37; and John Bauer, 54, all of 511 Woodmoor, were arrested following execution of a search warrant at that address. The Special Operations Unit turned up crack cocaine, heroin and a handgun, police said. The three were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and obstructing justice, police said.

LINCOLNSHIRE

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT: Carmen Alonso, 36, of 65 W. Honeysuckle, Round Lake, was arrested following a traffic stop last week at Route 22 and Elm Road for not having a valid driver's license, police said. Police then discovered he was a previously deported alien, and an immigration detainer was issued by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Alonso was being held in Lake County Jail, police said.
