Some parents and athletes have questioned why they were not involved in the decision-making process.
Yep, I would be asking the same question if I had a daughter on the squad.

This has absolutely nothing to do with safety or liability because a release from liability form could be signed by the parents. My children, when they were in H.S., have had such forms signed when they traveled on overnight trips to participate in a school activity. It's all about a political statement (agenda), regardless of the excuses being offered.

Oh yes, China is better than Arizona. When they are done with their inmate slave labor they make good use of them still by murdering them and selling their body parts around the planet.

    Associated Press

DEERFIELD, Ill. - The heated debate over a decision not to allow an Illinois high school basketball team to play at a tournament in Arizona is cooling off with word that the girls are going to Florida instead.

One Highland Park High School player - Morgan Bartelstein - says she and her teammates never wanted to be part of the national debate over Arizona's controversial immigration bill. That bill prompted officials to call off their trip next December.

At a meeting Monday night in Deerfield, some parents and students supported the decision because they worried the girls might be subject to racial profiling. But opponents accuse the district of using the students as pawns to make a political statement.

Bartelstein says she and her teammates just want to play.
