A former political adviser for Donald Trump has some doomsday predictions for the bombastic billionaire.
“I do not think that he will win … This is what I would say from a ‘glass half-empty’ perspective if I were talking to Mr. Trump,” Sam Nunberg, a former Trump political adviser told The Daily Beast in an article Wednesday.

Nunberg, in a follow-up interview with POLITICO, said that his predictions are based off live polls of registered voters, but that as a Trump supporter he hopes he's wrong.
"Based on public polling that I have seen and based on a downward trend, which includes a downward trend in New Hampshire, it includes Ted Cruz consolidating social conservatives in Iowa. I am concerned that Mr. Trump will not be able to get into the position to win South Carolina, which is his strongest state of support. He has to get there,” Nunberg said. "Now that the race is tightening, it's more difficult for him to get to South Carolina, which is the real firewall,” he added.

Nunberg, who was fired earlier this year from Trump’s campaign for racist Facebook posts, insists he still supports Trump and that this was more of a warning urging the campaign to get its act together.

"I am a strong supporter of Mr Trump’s," he told POLITICO. "I want Mr. Trump to not only to win the nomination but to be elected president."

At the time of his firing, the Trump campaign said Nunberg was a “low-level, part-time consultant.” According to The Daily Beast, however, he began consulting for Trump in 2011 and was a full-time adviser in 2014.

“I like Mr. Trump. I worked for him for a long time, and consider myself close to him. He’s one of the few people I’ve ever worked for that I have a close personal affinity for,” Nunberg told The Daily Beast.

During a campaign rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Tuesday, Trump noted that he was behind Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in state-level polling and signaled that he might be resigned to losing the Feb. 1 caucuses.

But in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on Wednesday, Trump had a different prediction: "I think we’re going to do fantastically well in Iowa … I’m looking to win everything. We want to run the table. We want to run it, because that sends a signal."

Hope Hicks, Trump's spokeswoman had some strong words about Nunberg's interview Wednesday.
“Sam Nunberg was fired. He’s a highly self-destructive individual who makes routine calls begging for his job back. This is the interview of a desperate person who is trying to hang on and stay relevant," Hicks told POLITICO.
When asked if he was trying to get his job back, Nunberg said Hicks' statement was "absolutely false."

"I'm not doing this to get my job back and I’ve never tried. I’ve never asked for my job back," he said. "They would be better served listening to what I said as opposed to discrediting it."

    Dear Trump Supporters in Iowa:

If you aren't already registered, you've got to register immediately.

If you aren't planning to do whatever it takes to be at the Caucuses on February 1, please try to figure out a way to be there.

Please tell all your friends and family to do likewise.

    Trump needs to win Iowa.

    Iowa Trump Supporters Registration Information:

Do I have to vote according to the party affiliation on my voter registration?

    No.

Ballots are secret and voters have the right to vote for any candidate they want.

The only time that party affiliation is important in terms of voting is in the case of a political party caucus or a primary election. In those cases, voters must be registered with the political party whose caucus or primary they wish to participate in. Voters have the right to change their affiliation and then participate in the caucus or primary election on the day those events are being held. (Ex. Someone who is registered as a Republican may participate in the Democratic primary election by changing his or her political affiliation to Democratic on the day the primary election is held and vice versa.)

Voters can only participate in one party's caucus or primary election each time those events take place.

The Republicans and Democrats each hold their own set of caucuses subject to their own particular rules that change from time to time. Participants in each party's caucuses must be registered with that party. Participants can change their registration at the caucus location. Additionally, 17-year-olds can participate, as long as they will be 18 years old by the date of the general election. Observers are allowed to attend, as long as they do not become actively involved in the debate and voting process. For example, members of the media and campaign staff and volunteers attend many of the precinct caucuses. Youth who will not be eligible to vote by the date of the general election may also attend as observers and may volunteer to attend the county convention as youth delegates.[4]

Trump has got to have a cooler head under criticism. Of course his opponents want him to say something that will get him in trouble. They are baiting him. He's got to beat them at that game.

That's how he brings focus to the issues he cares about. At first I wondered about that, then I saw how he works it. He's brilliant actually. He does something right that stupid people in the press don't understand, then they attack him for it, do research to try to prove him wrong or bad, only to prove he was right and good, and now the issue is front and center and he's on the right side of it. Every single time.

Iowa isn't Trump's fault, it's Establishment Republicans who are doing this in Iowa. That said, I think he will still win in Iowa, but Iowa Trump Supporters have to get to the Caucuses and stand their ground. Right now, it's Texas volunteers in Iowa running the show for Cruz. How odd is that? Texans in Iowa making deals with Republican County Chairmen to win Iowa for Cruz. Have you ever heard of anything so freaking bizarre? If that's not enough Interstate Establishment at work for you, then there's Steve King endorsing Cruz, the Family Leader guy, Bob Vander Plaats endorsing Cruz, and a radio talk show guy, Steve Deace, endorsing Cruz.

Ted Cruz Secures Trifecta of Key Iowa Endorsements

Ted Cruz secured the support of prominent evangelical Bob Vander Plaats, head of the Family Leader, giving Cruz a trifecta of important endorsements in Iowa that show that social conservatives are coalescing around the presidential candidate.

Vander Plaats made the announcement in Des Moines, Iowa, today calling Cruz a man of "deep character" who is "competent" and has the campaign infrastructure to go the distance in the presidential race.

"I happen to believe that the extraordinary leader that we need for these extraordinary times is U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz," said Vander Plaats, who touted Cruz's campaign staff as well as his resources.

"As you’ve seen in the polls, he’s beginning to rise. Not only will he be really, really strong here in Iowa, we believe he will be strong in the early states and we believe he can be the nominee to take on and defeat Hillary Clinton and the leftist agenda," Vander Plaats said.

In Iowa, Cruz and Donald Trump appear to be vying for the top spot. A Monmouth University poll shows Cruz with a slight lead over Trump while a CNN/ORC poll shows Trump leading Cruz by 13 points. A CBS/NYT national poll released today shows Cruz in second place behind Trump.

The support of Vander Plaats follows the endorsement of Rep. Steve King, one of the most prominent conservative politicians in Iowa, and conservative radio host Steve Deace. Iowa insiders say that trio of endorsements gives Cruz a powerful surge among social conservatives and evangelicals, a key group that Cruz is working to appeal to both in Iowa and nationally.

"Ted Cruz getting that with the combination of Steve King’s endorsement really does give it a multiplier effect," said Rick Schwarm, former chairman of the Iowa Republican Party.

Several conservatives courted the endorsement of Vander Plaats, most recently at a presidential forum in November hosted by the Family Leader. At that event, Cruz got a rousing applause and the number of supporters hoping to hear and talk to the Texas senator overfilled a room.

Schwarm said that the endorsement of Vander Plaats coupled with the support of King and Deace shows that “social conservatives are now going to support Ted Cruz and show up on caucus night.”

The Cruz campaign has long touted its ground game in the Hawkeye state.

"Our ground game in Iowa continues to exceed that of our opponents. Not only have we secured the endorsements of prominent conservatives across the state of Iowa including Bob Vander Plaats, Steve King and Steve Deace, we have nearly 3,000 volunteers working with 99 county chairmen and a terrific leadership team," said Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler. "While others are running their campaigns on television, we have been building a grassroots army and we are about to unleash that army to help us secure victory in Iowa on Feb. 1."

Part of that army includes "Camp Cruz," a rented dormitory the campaign is using in Iowa to host volunteers from across the nation that they're calling a "Cruz Crew Strike Force."

It "will be occupied for the duration until the Feb. 1 caucus with over 500 volunteers mostly from Texas and to help get out the vote for Senator Cruz," said Tyler.

In Iowa, Cruz has competed most vigorously for the support of evangelicals and social conservative with Dr. Ben Carson. Today's endorsement probably hurts Carson the most, Schwarm said.

"Ben Carson was doing remarkably well, but the fact that Ted Cruz is getting this says we like Carson, but Cruz is our guy. So it hurts him a lot. It probably keeps the momentum going down for him. People still like and respect him, but they’re probably not going to vote for him,” Schwarm said.
Cruz who supports legal status for illegal aliens.
Cruz who voted for the TPA for the TPP.
Cruz who has no accomplishments, record, experience, training or view that enables him to fix our country.

He's not even a natural born citizen eligible for the office under the Constitution and he wins endorsements from at least 2 guys who want to wave the Constitution around for religious liberty, yet they endorse a candidate for President who isn't even eligible to hold the post.

    It's crazy.

Why does everything have to turn into an attack on Cruz with you, Judy? Do you really feel he is that much of a threat to Trump?

Oh, and for your information, Cruz is now saying he does not support the legalization of illegal immigrants. Of course it's your choice not to believe him. However, it's odd that you don't believe him but find Trump's amnesty support as acceptable.

MW, the man is a threat to our country. He without a doubt supported legal status for illegal aliens. He without a doubt supports free trade treason. He without a doubt is a War Hawk Maniac that wants to carpet bomb Syrian cities. He's also the biggest liar in DC. He lied about his position on legal status. He lied about his position on trade agreements. He will say anything and do anything to advance himself at the expense of our country, and then lie like a dog to make it look like he's doing the opposite.

Do you remember my posts over the years about our Period of Ironies and Opposites? This is what we're in. Everything in our political system is an allusion to appear one way when the exact opposite if happening and we sit there and say wow, isn't that ironic, like what a coincidence. This isn't irony, it's not coincidences, it's planned.

Just ask yourself why Steve King, one our supposed heroes fighting illegal immigration but who for the 10 years I've been tracking this has never once gotten one of his bills through Congress, supporting Ted Cruz who supports legal status for illegal aliens? And why does Jeff Sessions rise up to try to clear to some degree Cruz's big lie during the debate when Sessions knows first-hand Cruz supports and worked to pass TPA to pass TPP that Sessions opposes?

We're being played, MW, Cruz is the new go-to guy and a weak sinister self-serving piece of crap who will do and say anything to advance himself at our expense, while making speeches telling us he's doing the opposite.

Do you understand his tirade again McConnell? It was about the Ex-Im bank deal. The Ex-Im Bank ... like this is important? No, this is not important. It's a loan guarantee program tha'st been around for 80 years signed into law by FDR I think it was, to help our companies do business overseas with other countries. It's a loan guarantee program for exporters. It doesn't cost us any money, and earns our government $2 billion a year in fee revenues. Big companies use it as well as some smaller ones. The guarantees are $110 billion a year, but require no money, they're just guarantees. Maybe we no longer need it, maybe it's not a necessary function right now, but some feel it is and are afraid to let it go because it might hurt some of our companies, so it wasn't the year to do it. This is what Cruz went maniac over, that is what his big speech was about when he called McConnell a liar. Cruz had bartered his support for the TPA in exchange for McConnell's word that they would terminate the Ex-Im Bank program.

    WHAT???!!

No average American is worried about or concerned about the EX-IM bank program. If it helps exports, that's great. Why would we want to terminate it?

Every average American wants this free trade treason brought to an end.

Yet Cruz supports TPA that most Americans vehemently oppose to get the clearance to terminate the Ex-Im Bank program no one cares about because it doesn't cost us anything and maybe helps our exporters a little, exporters like Boeing who just built a huge plant in South Carolina and expands in the US more than most.

Cruz even voted against the amendment to the TPA that would have required Congressional approval to add Russia and China to the TPP. Yeah, so the amendment failed, and now the Trade Representative and Secretary of State can add China and Russia to the TPP without having to go back to Congress for approval.

So my question now is why in the world would you or anyone else want Cruz anywhere but out of government, let alone elevated to the White House?

You've been played by a player. Cruz is a con man extraordinaire on the very issues that we're supposed to care about here at ALIPAC, like immigration and trade.
