Illegal Alien Arrested Three Days after Deportation

An illegal alien recently deported jumped the United States-Mexico Border and was subsequently re-arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol.
Daniel Camacho-Avalos, a 41-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, was caught by Border Patrol three days after he was deported from the U.S., according to Valley Central News.
Avalos was deported via Laredo, Texas, on August 12. Three days later, he was trying to re-enter the U.S. illegally. Avalos is now in federal custody.
Avalos’ arrest is the latest case of previously deported illegal aliens using the U.S.-Mexico Border to re-enter the country, something that President Trump has promised to stem.
In a recent op-ed, Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Elaine Duke pleaded with the GOP-controlled Congress to help pass funding for border walls along the southern border, as Breitbart Texas reported.
“Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle should come together like they did 10 years ago and give the men and women of DHS the resources we need to defend our homeland,” Duke wrote. “This starts with fully funding the construction of a wall along our Southern border.”
As Trump has long argued, Duke said that “border walls work,” as evident in Arizona, which has seen drastic cuts to illegal immigration thanks to infrastructure and Border Patrol investments.
“Even under lax enforcement standards, apprehensions in fiscal year 2016 were roughly a 10th of what they were in FY 2005 — and are on track to be even lower this year,” Duke wrote. “Crime has significantly decreased in the Yuma area, and smugglers now look for other less difficult areas of the border to cross — often areas without fencing.”
