Illegal Alien Caught With More Than $200,000 Worth Of Heroin In California



MIRANDA, CA - On May 12, agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force arrested Rafaela Castillo-Ramirez, 41, following an investigation in which the accused was suspected of working for a Mexican drug cartel.

The woman's vehicle was pulled over on Maple Hills Road and searched.

KRCR reported:

"When agents searched the vehicle, they found a makeshift compartment under the rear seat with five pounds of heroin packaged for sales inside, according to agents."

The drugs represent a street value of approximately $224,000.

Castillo-Ramirez is from the Mexican state of Sinaloa, according to court documents.

Castillo-Ramirez was charged with possession and transportation of controlled substances for sale, having a false compartment within a motor vehicle and violating the state's 'shelter-in-place order.' She is currently being held at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on $500,000 bail.
