On Monday, Mauricio Lisboa-Gomes, 26, was arraigned in Lawrence District Court on charges of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over and photographing an unsuspecting nude or partially nude person.

The Brazilian national was arrested last Friday by North Andover police, after an 18-year-old female co-worker at J&M Convenience Store and Deli, located at 701 Salem Street, discovered a recording device placed in the employee bathroom.

The woman noticed an iPod touch device on a supply shelf inside the restroom. She picked it up and saw that the "red recording indicator was flashing," according to the police report.

She took the device to her boss and reported not only this incident, but a series of creepy advances from Lisboa-Gomes.

The victim told police that within the month she has been working with the accused "that something was going on with Mauricio in regard to her because she had noticed that every time she would go to use the bathroom he would go in first, telling her it was important that he went first."

The police report states:

"[The victim] stated that shortly after she started noticing Mauricio going into the bathroom before her, he began making comments to her regularly saying 'I bet I can guess what color underwear you are wearing today.'"

Under questioning, Lisboa-Gomes admitted to police that he has been living and working in the United States illegally for the last six years.

Lisboa-Gomes has pleaded not guilty and his next court appearance is scheduled for November 13.

Of course, this is not the first time an illegal alien has been accused of videotaping young women without their knowledge...

In March 2011, Cobb County (GA) police arrested Alejandro Paniagua Pretega, 28, after a witness told reported the illegal alien following a shopper around the Kmart on Mableton Parkway, trying to videotape under the woman’s skirt without her knowledge.

According to the arrest report, Pretega followed the woman around the store for several minutes and had footage of her on his camera when he was taken into custody.

Pretega was charged with felony eavesdropping and booked into the Cobb County Jail on an immigration detainer.
