Illegal alien in jail on child porn charges

KRQE-- A few days ago, the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau arrested Edgar Zarate, 23, after a joint investigation between the state police online predator unit and the Lovington Police Department.

A search warrant was executed on the home where the illegal alien was living and multiple examples of child pornography were found.

Zarate was charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography. He now sits in the Lea County Detention facility on a $60,000 bond, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a deatainer on him.
