Illegal Immigrant Not Charged With Hit-And-Run In Pineville Case

PINEVILLE, N.C. -- Pineville investigators say they do not have enough evidence to charge a driver in connection with a hit-and-run crash, and time is running out to collect it.

They believe a Ford F150 belonging to Misael Pablo is the truck that hit Adela Diaz Sanchez while she walked down Willow Ridge Road last month.

Pablo remains in jail on driving while impaired charges tied to the wreck.

On Tuesday prosecutors took the case to the district attorney, who could have filed hit-and-run charges. Instead the district attorney decided there is not enough evidence to determine Pablo was behind the wheel when Sanchez was hit.

Pablo is set to be deported by June.

If no one comes forward with evidence by then, he will not be charged with hit-and-run for the crash
