Illegal Aliens Using Wisconsin State Capitol to Demand Rights and Benefits
Citizens and Legal Immigrants Plan Counter-Protest in Madison March 18
WASHINGTON, March 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Illegal alien advocates are planning a day of lobbying and training on the grounds of the Wisconsin State Capitol on Wednesday, March 18. A coalition of law-abiding, taxpaying Wisconsiners, led by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), will be on-hand at the Capitol to express their outrage over this inappropriate use of state facilities.
According to their own releases, illegal aliens advocates from Voces de la Frontera will be gathering with illegal aliens at the State Capitol to demand taxpayer subsidized college tuition and state-issued "driver's certificates." Wisconsiners may remember Voces de la Frontera as the radical illegal alien advocacy group that registered ineligible voters in Wisconsin. Now they are pressing their demand to subsidize illegal immigration at a time when unemployment in Wisconsin has risen to 7.6 percent, tuition at state colleges and universities is skyrocketing, and when the state has been forced to issue $1.5 billion in new high interest bonds to cover a growing budget shortfall.
"Illegal aliens and their advocates will not be the only ones showing up in Madison on Wednesday. Citizens from all across Wisconsin will be there as well to protest this outrageous misuse of government property by people who are in the U.S. illegally," said Susan Tully, FAIR's national field director and a Wisconsin resident. "People in this state, and all across the nation, have been forced to bear the costs of illegal immigration long enough. We want our state officials to know that Wisconsiners oppose granting benefits to illegal aliens, and that we will hold our elected representatives accountable."
The counter-protest led by FAIR will be held at 10:00 am in the Madison Capitol Rotunda.
"We will be bringing a clear message to state officials: Our tax dollars and our patience are wearing thin. We expect government leaders in Wisconsin to protect the interests of law-abiding residents of this state, not indulge the demands of those who are here illegally," Tully concluded.
