KINGMAN — A California man was found guilty Wednesday of molesting a young girl while riding a personal watercraft in Bullhead City.
Jose Raul Ramos-Ramirez, 37, was convicted late Wednesday afternoon on one count of child molestation. He will face up to 24 years in prison when Superior Court Judge Steven Conn sentences him Aug. 15.
The jury found one aggravating factor, that the crime was emotional harm to the victim.
Ramos-Ramirez, an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador, molested a 11-year-old girl July 4, 2015, while they rode a personal watercraft together on the Colorado River. He is being held in custody without bond.
Ramos Ramirez was arrested July 4, 2015 at Community Park in Bullhead City after the girl told her mother that Ramos-Ramirez molested her. Ramos-Ramirez and the girl rode the watercraft into shallow water of the river when he got off the craft, made inappropriate comments and then inappropriately touched her. After returning to her family, the girl told her mother, who called police.
