Democrats not ready to govern, says Trump, citing Tibbetts murder, other immigration-related crime

Their 'immigration policies are destroying innocent lives, and spilling very innocent blood' president says

COLUMBUS, Ohio — President Trump said Friday night that Republicans will prevail in the midterm elections because Democrats “are not in a position to govern” with lax immigration policies that he said led to the death of Iowa teenager Mollie Tibbetts and others.

Speaking to the Ohio state Republican Party’s annual dinner, Mr. Trump predicted, “This November we are going to win really big.”

“Today’s Democrats are not just extreme, they are really not in a position to govern,” he said. “They are just not in a position to govern when you look at what they are for — open borders and crime.”

The president raised the case of Ms. Tibbetts, who was killed while jogging, allegedly by an illegal immigrant from Mexico who stalked her.

“Everybody is talking about Mollie. Everybody loved her,” the president said.

He accused the media of downplaying the murder due to the defendant’s alleged illegal status.

“When they found out that it was this horrible, illegal immigrant that viciously killed her, all of a sudden that story went down,” Mr. Trump said. “They didn’t want to cover it the way it should have been covered. But what happened to Mollie was a disgrace. And our hearts go out, we mourn for Mollie’s family.”

He also cited the recent murder of a homeless woman in New York, allegedly by a twice-deported illegal immigrant, and the rape of a young child by an illegal immigrant in Philadelphia, which is a sanctuary city.

“Democrat immigration policies are destroying innocent lives, and spilling very innocent blood,” he said. “We believe that any party that puts criminal aliens before American citizens should be voted out of office, not into office.”

It was the first time that a sitting president addressed the state GOP dinner, and the largest crowd at the annual dinner in Ohio history, according to the state party.

The president said Democrats “run down our country” and are “nasty people.” Without mentioning the Justice Department specifically, he launched into a criticism of the failure of Justice officials to prosecute Democrats such as former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and others in the FBI who have opposed him.

“Nobody looks at them. Is that Deep State, or what?” Mr. Trump said. “McCabe. The beautiful Lisa Page, and her wonderful FBI agent… [Peter] Strzok. …[Former FBI director James] Comey — lies and leaks. Is this guy being looked at? We’re going to straighten it out. It’s happening. It’s going to get straightened out.”

Mr. Trump promoted the Senate candidacy of Republican Rep. Jim Renaci, and blasted Democratic gubernatorial nominee Richard Cordray, who led the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau under former President Obama before quitting under Mr. Trump. The oft-criticized CFPB was created with the help of Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts Democrat.

“He was groomed by Pocahontas,” Mr. Trump said, using his derisive nickname for Ms. Warren. “He will destroy your state.”

He said of the Democratic Party nationally, “Their whole campaign is resist. They haven’t figured out that they lost the election. They’re going to figure it out. You have left wing haters and radicals trying to tear down our institutions.”

Mr. Trump also praised Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican, for helping him to “straighten out” the Washington bureaucracy that opposes his policies.

If Democrats win the mid-terms, they will do it as well. There has probably never been a more important mid-term election for those of us who want to fix our country. I hope everyone keeps that in mind, too.

You know Judy, we really need to open black people's eyes on how the democratic party is royally screwing them before the midterm elections. Most black people don't know this. Sure, I have a thread on here that I post this stuff in, but really, how many black people actually come here and read my thread? We need to go to them, and fast, before the mid-terms. We need to find out what forums/message boards they frequent the most and make this stuff known to them. I have plenty of articles in my thread that we can arm ourselves with. We don't have much time before the midterms.

“The number of immigrants added to the labor force every year is of a magnitude not seen in this country for over a century,” one American president wrote. And Donald Trump has been branded a racist and fear-monger for similar remarks.

But the words above came from a different president — Barack Obama, in his book “The Audacity of Hope.” Appealing to America’s working class, he went on: “If this huge influx of mostly low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a whole — especially by keeping our workforce young, it also threatens to depress further the wages of blue-collar Americans and put strains on an already overburdened safety net.”

Today, the mainstream media and the left excoriate Trump for warning about the caravan of would-be illegal immigrants that made its way through Mexico to America’s southern border. But back then Obama could say, with nary a whisper of protest, “Not all your fears are irrational” in regard to illegals crossing that border. And he wasn’t wrong. But black America is being taught instead to fear Trump while ignoring the adverse impact that illegal immigration has visited on our communities.

I often hear anger, embarrassment and frustration, especially from black audiences, when they first encounter the facts on this issue. Anger over how long they had been led astray; embarrassment for having echoed those false narratives; and frustration that nobody seems willing to report the facts.

The facts include these: Illegals constitute 5 percent of federal murder convictions, 30 percent of federal kidnapping convictions and 18 percent of federal drug trafficking convictions in this country.

Many blacks and liberal whites who take in these numbers begin to realize the unfair playing field which they have willingly, albeit ignorantly, helped to create by supporting candidates that carve out entire states or cities to hide and protect those that are in the United States illegally.

Blacks are being adversely impacted by the failed policies of the men and women that they have unwisely elected. Often, instead of hearing the clarion call of Dr. Martin Luther King to never judge an individual by the color of their skin but by the content of their character, they continue to elect individuals whose only interest is to keep them on the plantation called ignorance, while they cloak themselves in the garments of emancipators.

Lastly, I appeal to every American who happens to be white: Please stop being afraid to speak the truth concerning the issues that are destroying all of us as Americans. This is what those in my family — and I assume in yours — have fought wars for. Let not their sacrifice be undone because of political correctness and soft bigotry.
