    What Was Hillary Clinton Thinking?

    What Was Hillary Clinton Thinking?
Editorial of The New York Sun | August 29, 2010

This newspaper has been, and is, as pro-immigration as any newspaper we’ve ever encountered. We’re for the free movement of capital, the free movement of trade in goods and services, and the free movement of labor. We see efforts to curb immigration and to oust those who are already here as a form of protectionism. We have opposed nativism and xenophobia at every turn, and we’re not above, when we see it from time to time, calling racism by its correct name. But even we, who feel America is an under-populated nation needing all the people we can get, are shocked at the decision of Secretary of State Clinton to take the matter of Arizona’s immigration law to the United Nations Human Rights Council.

What in the world was Mrs. Clinton thinking? It was bad enough that the Obama administration decided to jettison the hard line in favor of human rights that the Bush administration had maintained in refusing to deal with the United Nations Human Rights Council, which numbers among its members such states as Communist Cuba and the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya. But for Mrs. Clinton, who is positioning herself for another run for the presidency, to send, as she did, a report to the Council that boasts, even in vague language and in passing, of the Obama administration's immigration lawsuit against Arizona is appalling. Governor Brewer was right as rain to call the secretary on her blunder. Mrs. Brewer did not put it too strongly when she called Mrs. Clinton’s report “downright offensive.â€

Bunch of idiots there at the Sun, they don't understand that unlimited immigration, "the free movement of labor", leads directly to One World Government and destruction of our Constitution. I wonder if their staff is 90% non-American?

Fortunately the solution to the quislings' actions is already known. As posted in another thread, ICE has a Secure Communities program which, thru written agreements, grants local law enforcement officers the power to enforce federal immigration laws. Secure Communities, A.K.A. 287(g), is part of the Immigration and Nationality Act. All Gov. Brewer has to do is have local jurisdictions apply for that program. Having local jurisdictions apply to paricipate would also render absurd the 'Bamaministration's referral of Arizona to the United Nations!

Who knew that the solution would be so easy?

True. But the Secure Communities Act only applies to a handful of very violent criminal aliens targeted by ICE who are already committing serious crimes already covered by every state law and state law enforcement officer in the country.

The New York Sun needs to wake up and smell the crap that their other positions on immigration, free trade and free movement of labor have caused. The backers of this newspaper have promoted the bankruptcy of the United States generating more people than jobs whether they realize it or not. They need to go back to school and learn the basics of the American Economic System which is based upon protectionism.

Protectionism is nothing more than the freedom to earn and produce as well as the freedom to protect both once you have done so. Only a nation of idiots and morons would work their asses off to earn and produce and then give it all away to foreign countries under the false flag of "free movement" of anything.

Nevertheless, we appreciate their recognition that this report by the US State Department to the UN shows clearly that this administration is at minimum "dysfunctional."

Agreed. I was just trying to point out the absurdity of referring Arizona's illegals control law to the U.N.

In another very recent thread someone posted that there are currently 248,00 cases pending in our immigration courts. Unless we can pressure the Open Borders crowd to begin putting Americans first in this magnificent country, the situation will continue to deteriorate. IMO 'Bamaquisling is in fact deliberately creating a situation which he will claim has reached the point where the only thing we can do is grant amnesty to all his precious Undocumented Democrats.

I totally agree, and it was an excellent point you raised, and I wanted to expand on it. The very existence of the 287g program and Secure Communities Act destroy any argument the Administration has against state's enforcing US immigration law, in addition to the US Constitution which reserves those powers to states explicitly in Article 1, Section 9:

Article !, Section 9, US Constitution.

The migration or importation of such persons as any of the states now existing shall think proper to admit, shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight, but a tax or duty may be imposed on such importation, not exceeding ten dollars for each person.
States are responsible for immigration, admitting it, as well as prohibiting it. The federal government's only role is to prohibit it beginning after 1808. At no time ever in the history of this country has the United States government ever had the right to admit any immigrant or imported laborer without the prior consent of the state legislatures affected by it.

The so-called "constitutioal scholar" presently occupying the Oval Office, the few days a year he's not on a holiday or excursion at our expense, should know this. It shouldn't be necessary for me to have to post the US Constitution on an internet site in hopes that this President, a graduate of Harvard Law School, and a former Constitutional Law Scholar/Lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School could learn what the very first Article of our hallowed document actually says and thus actually authorizes whom to do what.

YOU GO ARIZONA! You fight this administration with all you've got, and please tell your lawyers to read Article 1, Section 9 of the US Constitution in case they missed it for some reason.
