2016 Front-running Trump defends immigration plan
http://onpolitics.usatoday.com/2015/...igration-plan/
Donald Trump again made what seems like weekly appearances on Sunday interview shows, this time defending a plan that would remove all immigrants who are in the country illegally.
While critics say the idea is impractical and would cost at least $400-to-$600 billion, Trump said on CBS and ABC that the country is already paying too high a price for illegal immigration.
“It’s costing us $130 billion a year and that’s peanuts compared to what the real cost is,” the front-running Republican presidential candidate said on ABC’s This Week.
The New York businessman has also called for a wall along the nation’s southern border — and to have Mexico pay for it — and said that “really good” immigrants would be expedited back into the country. Trump has also called for ending automatic citizenship for the babies of immigrants who are in the country illegally.
Republican opponent Jeb Bush and other critics say Trump’s plan won’t work and will further alienate Hispanic voters who have trended Democratic in recent elections.
Bush, who is second to Trump in many GOP polls, has also challenged the businessman’s commitment to Republican and conservative ideas, noting that in the past he has backed abortion rights, tax hikes, and restrictions on guns.
“Trump’s positions are deeply out-of-step with the Alabama way of life,” said an email to voters from the Bush campaign before Trump’s rally Friday in a football stadium in Mobile.
In his appearance on CBS’ Face The Nation, Trump said his views have changed over time, and he noted that Ronald Reagan started political life as a Democrat.
“He evolved as he got older,” Trump said. “And I did also.”
Trump’s latest Sunday show appearances came as polls continued to show him with a big lead over Bush and more than a dozen other Republican presidential candidates.
His dominance of the race is forcing other candidates to respond to the Trump phenomenon in one way or another.
Scott Walker, responding to Trump’s criticism of his record as governor of Wisconsin, told ABC that “he’s using the talking points of the Democrats.”
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Trump’s immigration plan sounds appealing in part, but told CBS that “I just think it’s a very complicated problem. And it needs someone who understands how to do a complicated and nuanced solution to that problem.”
Ending birthright citizenship, Christie noted, would require amending the U.S. Constitution.
Businesswoman Carly Fiorina, appearing on NBC’s Meet The Press, said no voter has asked her about the billionaire.
“The only people who ask me about Donald Trump are the media,” Fiorina said. “I think the media’s kind of obsessed with Donald Trump honestly, and I think Donald Trump is using the media.”
Another outsider candidate — retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson — did not shoot down the idea of joining Trump as his running mate during an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union.
“I think all things are possible,” Carson said, adding that “it’s much too early” to start talking about 2016 tickets.
Another candidate, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, told Fox News Sunday, that he doesn’t want to answer Trump questions because doing so would only “give him more coverage” than he is already getting.
“I’m talking about my campaigns,” he said. “My issues.”

For Trump or any Trump campaign staff or volunteer supporter who reads this forum, please tell Trump to start talking about using state and local law enforcement to enforce US immigration law which won't cost US anything including arresting and deporting illegal aliens. Trey Gowdy's bill HR 1148 does this, although any President can do this, because States already have the right to enforce any federal law especially immigration law within their state, but Gowdy's bill clarifies the confusion about it created by the Obama Administration and its action against SB 1070 in Arizona. This would unleash over 800,000 trained, sworn, paid, equipped police officers fully capable of enforcing US immigration law. CUT THEM LOOSE!!
Do the math, according to FBI statistics, arrest per officer records show that state and local law enforcement officers arrest on average 1.5 people per month. Yes, per month. So I think for most of us, it's entirely realistic to ask them to arrest at least 2 illegal aliens per month and in 1 month 3 illegal aliens, they're usually in groups anyway, which means the arrest and deportation of 20 million illegal aliens in a 12 month time at no new cost except the processing cost to secure the deportation order and bus, train, or plane them out of here. Almost half of these will be visa overstays and people who can simply be escorted to a plane, charged for the ticket and flown at their own expense out of here with the simple choice of pay for your tickets or spend time busting rocks or picking up trash on a chain gang.
The Mexicans and Central Americans are driven to the border and met by Mexican and Central American authorities. If they won't agree to take them, you cut off all remittances to those countries. If the Mexicans won't walk out the way they walked in, then assign to chain gang duty busting rocks for the wall.
Like Trump says, it's "management".A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

this quote from the article below : "While critics say the idea is impractical and would cost at least $400-to-$600 billion, Trump said on CBS and ABC that the country is already paying too high a price for illegal immigration."
From where do these open borders/amnesty clowns get their "facts?" 400 tp 600 billion dollars--give me a break! I hope nobody takes these ridiculously exaggerated figures seriously. 600 billion dollars divided by an estimated 30 million illegal aliens is $20,000 for each person deported. Does anybody believe that is a reasonable estimate? And if they are basing the cost on their fantasy of only 11 million illegal aliens that would make it almost $40,000 to $60,000 per person. Does anybody really think these estimates are not a huge exaggeration?Last edited by csarbww; 08-23-2015 at 06:40 PM.

Well, they're probably including government paid lawyers to represent them in their hearings, detention costs waiting for the hearing and the eventual transportation cost of deportation, which could cost a lot. But the process of detention and deportation is a function of staffing courts to process the deportation order which needs to be streamlined and state courts authorized to process these people based on a simple, do you have papers, can you produce them in 24 hours, if no, then out you go the next day or so with a group being transported to that country.
I really don't know what they're including but of course they're exaggerating all of it.Last edited by Judy; 08-23-2015 at 08:01 PM.

Notice that the media wants detailed specifics about Trump's immigration plan, but no such demand is made of those who spout off those gigantic $600 billion numbers. They should be made to show exactly how they came up with those numbers!!

Great point! The number is hugely exaggerated, and if Trump's in office he'll negotiate great deals with the transporters, he'll expedite detentions and deportations, this man knows how to make money so he doesn't waste it getting rid of trespassers, he'll get them out on a budget we not not only can afford, but one that makes US money. I really don't know why local Magistrate type person can't do it. They check for documents if they have them they compare them to E-verify and if they don't have them and they're not in ICE, then out they go on the next bus load.
It's a pretty simple logistics issue. We have business people who manage much more complicated transportation and movement of people every day.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan
