Soon after a jury had been seated in their trial, a pair of illegal immigrants pleaded guilty Tuesday to trafficking heroin to Reno High School students.
Bernabi Gutierrez, 30, and Jose Guadalupe Isiordia-Burmudez, 36, both pleaded guilty to selling heroin to Reno High students during their lunch hours and after school. They were arrested in April 2010 by members of the regional Street Enforcement Team after a Secret Witness tipster stated seeing drug activity at or around the school.
One student, a senior who later graduated with honors, purchased heroin from the pair at least 30 times between March and April 2010, court records show.
Deputy District Attorney Kelly Ann Kossow said the defendants’ actions should serve as a wake-up call to the community about the resurgence of heroin useamong young adults and the need to prosecute those who “target our youth.â€Unemployment is not working. I can't believe that Obozo and the Dems condone this type of destruction to our youth. The border is not secure and drugs are flowing like never before to destroy are youth. All why pandering to the very people that are doing harm to us. Disgusting.
You cannot dedicate yourself to America unless you become in every
respect and with every purpose of your will thoroughly Americans. You
cannot become thoroughly Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. President Woodrow Wilson

Two illegal immigrant cousins were sentenced to life in prison terms Tuesday for selling heroin to Reno High School students in a case brought to the attention of law enforcement by a Secret Witness tip.
Cousins Jose G. Isordia-Bermudez, 36, and Bernabi Isordia-Bermudez, 30, apologized to Washoe District Court Judge Jerome Polaha, who ruled they must serve at least 10 years in prison before they are eligible for parole. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also has a hold on the men who are illegally in the country, authorities said. Both had pleaded guilty to trafficking heroin.
The men had been arrested in April of 2010 following an undercover investigation by the regional Street Enforcement Team, who witnessed some high school students purchasing heroin balloons from the cousins, often up to three times a day. The drug deals would mostly occur during lunch and after school.
One student, a senior who later graduated with honors, purchased heroin from the pair at least 30 times between March 2010 and April 2010, court records show. He said he bought from them for about a year, on a near-daily basis.
Deputy District Attorney Kelly Ann Kossow said the men were living in an apartment in Northwest Reno that was being rented by another person where the only items police found inside were their sleeping gear, balloons, pay sheets, and drug packaging materials. She said the high school students paid $10 for each balloon of heroin. The men spoke little English.
Kossow said she was pleased with the life sentences handed out because of the large amount of heroin the men possessed — 96 grams prepackaged in dozens of balloons — and that they were targeting youth in the community. She described the drug sales as a “major drug operationâ€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn
