WOODBRIDGE- At first glance, the postcard that arrived in the mailboxes of thousands of Prince William County residents looked like campaign literature.
The postcard read 'notice of illegal immigration vote'. It urges county residents to attend the board meeting for an important vote on Tuesday.
It was sent by county board chairman Corey Stewart with the official county seal.
That has raised a few eyebrows especially since the postcard was sent a few days after a lawsuit was filed challenging the county's crackdown on illegal immigrants.
Stewart who is running for re-election said, "We are not going to back down." "It's full speed ahead."

The postcards cost more than $30,000 to send to residents.
The Washington Post reports that the money comes from the supervisor's discretionary fund, which is ordinarily used to hire part-time workers, and to buy new furniture.
