Thread: GA - One suspect in custody after Memorial Day weekend rodeo shooting

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. - Bartow County authorities have arrested an Austell man wanted by federal immigration officials in connection with a Sunday night shooting at a rodeo that wounded three people and injured another person.

The incident took place just after 7 p.m. Sunday at a large Hispanic event on Fossetts Cove near Cassville in Bartow County.

In a statement, Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap said deputies and investigators responded to the Memorial Day weekend rodeo after gunshots were fired by multiple people.

Deputies found three people had been shot, with two shot in the lower body and one in the neck.

A fourth person was cut on the hand with a knife.

All four victims were treated and released from area hospitals.

Sheriff Millsap said the crowd at the rodeo which he estimated at more than 300 people captured one suspect who was then arrested at the scene by deputies.

Deputies took the suspect, 25-year-old Celestino Moras of Austell, to the Bartow County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault after he was treated for facial injuries he suffered when the crowd brought him under control.

Moras also has a hold request from the U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

According to the statement, the shooting started when people attending the rodeo asked an intoxicated man to leave and he in turn pulled out a gun and started firing.

Investigators believe the other shooter who has not been identified is no longer in the Bartow County area.

So, they arrested him. ICE put a hold request on him. U.S. gov't will not reimburse counties for hold a fugitive illegal and if the county feels used they release him, or if they do pick him up he will be placed in detention until the case drops from public memory and Obama will release him. Am I supposed to be impressed with federal law enforcement? Here is a flash for the government, I've not been impressed with federal law enforcement since 1986!!
