Immig. Rights Group Takes Issue With Hard-Line Sheriff
Immigration Rights Group Takes Issue With Hard-Line Stance Of Butler Co. Sheriff
National Alliance of Latin American and Caribbean Communities (NALACC)
Leaders of Latino and Caribbean immigration rights organizations are gathering in Cincinnati this week.
Their goal is education on why United States immigration laws need to be changed.
The four-day conference is being sponsored by the National Alliance of Latin American and Caribbean Communities (NALACC).
Members are taking issue with the hard-line stance of Butler County's Sheriff Richard Jones.
Sheriff Jones has continually stated he's going to enforce existing laws because undocumented workers are in this country illegally.
"Rather than contributing positive solutions that truly make us all better, we only see more fuel being put on the fire," said Oscar Chacon, NALACC executive director. "That's why we object to his comments."
The immigration rights groups say current laws are obsolete, unjust, broken and need to be fixed.

Nothing wrong with the immigration laws we have now, except they should be streamlined more.
It doesn't matter what other countries think of our immigration laws, as we are allowed to INVITE anyone we want in. Just because these activists don't like our laws, does not give them the right to demand anything. Don't like them? Then stay home!
No more than 10% should come from one country. We see what's happened when this rule has been ignored.

Local Sheriff Vows To Continue Border Battle
Last Update: 10:26 pm
Latino leaders from across the country stop in the Tri-State to strategize how to counteract anti-immigrant messages and deal with immigration reform. The topic is especially controversial in the tri-state with Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones speaking out against illegal immigrants.
Sheriff Richard Jones: "We have heinous crimes such as murder, rape. We have more drugs coming into this community. It's been a sparked debate."
He recently posted this video on his website. But leaders today say not all immigrants are criminals and those who are here illegally are doing so because there isn't a system in place for them to be here legally.
Oscar Chacon, Executive Director NALACC: "The only reason why these people are working really hard, sometimes more than one job, paying lots of taxes at the rhythm of 7 billion dollars just in terms of social security contributions is not because they wish, it is because we as a nation, our policy makers in Washington have failed us in terms of producing the kind of immigration reform this country needs."
Recently, Sheriff Jones and State Representative Courtney Combs went to the Mexico-Arizona border to see for themselves just how difficult the battle against illegal immigration is on the front lines. Local 12's Rich Jaffe was the only reporter along for that trip and shares some insight into what those Butler County fact finders learned.
Rich Jaffe: To say the trip was eye opening for all of us, just doesn't begin to tell the story. Sheriff Jones has received national attention for his outspoken stance regarding illegals, but our trip to the border has only served to strengthen his belief that something has to be done to hold back that illegal tide.
Sheriff Jones has put up billboards. He has put up signs. He's sent the federal government bills for housing illegals in his jail. But nothing prepared Jones for his personal view of the growing border wall between Mexico and the U.S. And nothing prepared Jones or State Representative Courtney Combs for the reality of one thousand illegals a day, flooding across the border in Cochise County, Arizona. Catching only about a third of them, officials are also catching just a small portion of the illegal drugs that some are bringing along, drugs that frequently end up in Butler County.
Richard Jones, Butler County Sheriff: "9 tons of marijuana in six months here, just in this one county where a thousand illegals a day coming across the border here where we're at, a day and the influx is increasing into our community where we're at we're seeing more marijuana more cocaine, more people, more crime...and to come here and to see what we've seen today is just unbelievable."

I don't think there is anything wrong with our immigration laws that enforcing them wouldn't fix.
They are just rusty, dusty, and maybe a little stove up from disuse - but they will solve many of our problems.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Why do we have to worry about what Mexico or other nations think about our immigration policies? It is OUR country not thiers. They can have any immigration laws they want. I don't see us metteling in their immigration policies. Who cares what the open border activists think? Or LARAZA or MLDF etc. We are fighting to save our country and nothing else matters.

hmmm seems to me that the only people that want the immigration laws un-changed and enforced are the legal citizens.
Seems to me that those that broke our laws and don't like the current laws have a really, really big problem on their hands...
It also seems to me that Americans are really sick and tired of seeing the Mexican flag hailed while ours burns in effigy
We are winning this battle but it is far from over.... We as a Nation cannot let our guard down for one moment. These corrupt politicians... at the state and Federal level are going to keep pushing until they get what they want... amnesty for the masses

Or, to look back at our situation from an external view...
So, given that the US ...
a). Has one of, if not, the most generous policies about brining in legal immigrants of any large country in the world
b). Has one of, the most generous and tolerant treatment of illegal immigrants by ignored/postponed/overlooked enforcement and laws
c). The protesters in this case are arguing against our existing laws???
...Well, I think I know what the solution staring us in the face is!
Sure, let's 'change the laws' - but they might not like the result!!!
Legal Residency (after all, only a small minority are truly interested in citizenship - because if they were, they wouldn't have jumped the border or overstayed a visa to begin with...) is not an entitlement that is open to all without question.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
