Affidavit: Man faces 4th deportation in 3 years
March 7, 2019
A man in facing his fourth deportation in three years along with federal prosecution after he was arrested in Saluda County, according to court filings.
Fulgencio Vasquez-San Juan, of 1897 Fruit Hill Road, Saluda, was charged Thursday in federal district court with illegal re-entry to the U.S. by an alien who was previously removed from the U.S. A booking photo was not immediately available.
According to an affidavit, the man was arrested in Saluda County when local authorities learned the man was in the country illegally. The document said the man, who was born in 1977, was previously deported in April 2016, March 2018 and June 2018. It did not list his nationality.
During a Feb. 19 bench trial, Vasquez-San Juan was found guilty of driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content .16 or higher, driving without a license and seatbelt violation. He is serving a 30-day sentence, which he’ll complete on March 21.
The day after his trial, he was turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
The basic statutory maximum penalty for the charge is a fine and imprisonment for not more than two years, followed by deportation.
The arrest came as federal officials have ramped up immigration-related prosecutions. According to Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, there were 8,848 new immigration prosecutions filed in December alone — a 107.9 percent increase in such cases from December 2017.

Get them out of the local and state jurisdiction, out of our local jails, and out of our court system.
This goes for all visa overstays, foreign students, non-citizens, refugees, TPS, illegal aliens and asylum liars!
They should not be tried in the same courts as U.S. citizens.ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM
