An Aurora driving school employee who pleaded guilty to Social Security fraud was sentenced on Wednesday to time served.
U.S. District Judge William Martinez sentenced Griselda Trevino de Valenzuela to time served but was remanded to Immigration and Customs Enforcement authorities. The judge said she likely would be deported.
De Valenzuela, who illegally entered the country from Mexico in 2001, was a clerk at the Little Lake Driving Academy. She and Stuart Bryan King, the school's owner, were accused of charging up to $420 for passing driving test grades, whether drivers passed the test or not.
In addition to Social Security fraud, De Valenzuela was originally charged with conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, aggravated identity theft and bribery. Those charges were dropped as part of her plea agrement.
De Valenzuela served more than seven months in pretrial detainment before being released on bond in October.
King is scheduled to appear at a March 7 hearing, when he is expected to change his plea to guilty.
De Valenzuela's attorney Marc Milavitz declined to comment.
