"Immigrant-hunter" group resurfaces in Arizona
NOTIMEX
Phoenix, U.S., March 18, 2005 (Notimex) - The "immigrant-hunter" group Ranch Rescue (RR) announced yesterday it will resume its activities in Arizona after canceling them in April 2004 and indicated that a new operation will start to protect private ranches located in the border, next fall.
"We're back" stated Ranch Rescue in its website where the group indicates planning to launch an operative named "Eagle" in the Arizona-Mexico border in spring 2005.
RR, with seat in Arizona, was founded in Texas in 2001 by former US Army Captain, Jack Foote, to defend private properties from intruders that trespass them, including immigrants and drug traffickers.
Ranch Rescue explained that it won't participate in the operation planned by Minuteman Project (MMP) scheduled to start from April 1-30 to watch areas belonging to Cochise County in Arizona.
According to MMP, another of the "immigrant-hunter" groups that operate in the region, has managed to recruit more than 900 volunteers nationwide, including 30 pilots with 16 aircrafts destined to detect immigrants that illegally cross the border to denounce them to the Border Patrol.
Last April, without any specific reason, RR announced the suspension of their operatives in Arizona and the retirement of its members that remained in the private ranch and center of operations, "Puzzi", located in the city of Douglas, neighboring with Mexico. NTX
