This program did not work, not only because of no incentives. I figure all these folks are going to remain here, keep their heads down and noses clean, for the next president to grant the amnesty and listen to the rhetoric of LaRaza, LULAC, MALDEF and the Catholic Church, just to mention a few.

Kuck said he supports enforcement but that ICE could handle cases in a gentler way after arresting people at home. Instead of jailing them, for example, they could allow them to wear ankle bracelets while preparing to depart.
That's what the self-deportation program would have done, but I guess that wasn't "incentive" enough for them huh? Too bad they didn't take that offer while it was open. Enforcement IS working. Amnesties have failed time and time again, there will be no more.

You are so right WorriedAmerican, I totally agree with you. Thats the only way to get rid of them. E-verify and no freebees what so ever. Nothing at all and they will self deport. About a year ago the were trying to pass a bill for no benefits for illegals but the vote got stolen. Here`s the link if anyone wants to see it. I think it maybe coming back up in September, not sure.

On the night of August 2, a GOP proposal to bar illegal immigrants from receiving taxpayer-funded benefits under Fiscal Year 2008 agriculture appropriations bill passed 215-213 when the Democratic chair gaveled the vote to a close. After reopening the vote and allowing several Democrats to change their vote, Democratic leaders ordered the vote closed for a second time, reversing the outcome and restoring taxpayer benefits under the bill for illegal immigrants. The select committee -- which has subpoena power -- is expected to issue a final, comprehensive report by September 15, 2008.

Federal immigration officials vowed Friday to intensify efforts to track down illegal immigrants after scrapping a trial "self-deportation" program that attracted only eight volunteers.
DONT COME CRYING THAT THE ARE "IN FEAR AND HIDING IN THE SHADOWS" ANYMORE. THEY HAD THEIR CHANCE TO COME CLEAN. NOW THEY DESERVE TO BE FOUND, DEPORTED, AND BANNED FROM ENTERING THIS COUNTRY FOR 10 YEARS!

Doug McIntyre (radio talk show host KABC Los Angeles) pointed something out in his show today that I found very intriguing: He said we should give these 8 illegals citizenship "just for their being honest."

Allow me to expound on that: If we do so, that will piss off the 500,000 or whatever qualified illegals who had a chance. hahaahhaha.

This is one of those "nyah nyah ni nyah nyah" situations. I LOVE IT!! I would love it if ICE made that announcement. THEN, the next time they come out with their "Report and Deport" program, the 500,000 losers will apply. Only THIS TIME, ICE will say, "Nahhhhh. Not doing it this time. SORRY, BUT THANK YOU FOR GIVING US YOUR ADDRESS."

Gentler way??? There's nothing gentle about it. Make bad choice, pay the price.

You are so right, fedupinW. To me, a "gentler way" means an air-conditioned bus out of the USA rather than a non-air-conditioned bus.

You are absolutely right, Worried. Once more, if they were really serious, they would start threatening mayors and council members of sanctuary ciies with jail time for ignoring federal law.

There must be a way to file a class action suit against this traitorous government by the citizens nation wide that have lost their loved ones becuase of the gross negelct by these slobs and villans who OCCUPY our government. Wished the heck I was a lawyer.

I would just like to add that I past a construction site yesterday here in Atlanta...all American..and these guys were really young..19 -22 I would guess. After seeing my original choice of industry (20 years) slaughtered by politicians and illegals, this was an encouraging sight. It also makes liars out of those who tell you Americans don't want to do those jobs.
