Result seems clear in NC race, regardless of vote

An immigration enforcement activist says there is really no difference between the two candidates in a high profile congressional race in North Carolina.

American Idol entertainer Clay Aiken has won a hotly contested Democratic primary for a North Carolina congressional seat.

Aiken got more than 40% of the votes needed to win in the then three-candidate race. His closest rival died suddenly in a home accident in the past week.

Aiken will now face Republican incumbent Renee Ellmers in November in the GOP-leaning 2nd Congressional District.

William Gheen is president of the North Carolina based Americans for Legal Immigration PAC or ALIPAC. He says neither candidate supports border-enforcement.

Gheen

"From our perspective this race has already been decided,” he tells OneNewsNow. “A Republican supporting nation-destroying illegal alien amnesty will be elected. Or a Democrat supporting nation-destroying illegal alien amnesty will be elected. There will be very little difference between Clay Aiken and Renee Ellmers. In the end result Renee Ellmers and Clay Aiken will be more similar on policy than they are different because in the end they serve the same financial masters."

ALIPAC had endorsed Frank Roche a tea party candidate in the GOP primary.
