Immigration groups to step up pressure on Obama for reforms

A coalition of community and faith-based pro-immigration groups who helped elect President Obama in 2008 will begin a series of town-hall meetings and news conferences Tuesday in California to tell the president that the nations immigration system is “brokenâ€

Your "pressure" will never equal our pressure to ensure that there will NEVER be any amnesty EVER again. Learn to deal with it and help illegal aliens return to their homelands. Time to go, this shop is closed!

I attended a meeting yesterday with our Congressman, Joe Walsh (not that one ) and our Senator, Mark Kirk. Both commented on Obama's amnesty pep rally and both felt it was part of his bid for Hispanic votes in order to get re-elected. Neither felt there is a chance of "comprehensive immigration reform" any time in the near future. As both said "the voters have spoken, and we hear them." Both strongly support E-Verify. Unfortunately, Kirk is against ending birthright citizenship and Walsh only said he would consider legislation only after it had been written, he could not commit to a general idea.
