I think the Republicans have more to lose by turning their backs on their main supporters. Most hispanics vote Democrat and illegals are not supposed to vote. Obviously the Republicans main concern is really big business and their campaign money. The next election the Republicans can count me out as a voter if they are not willing to get a backbone on illegal immigration. Besides with losing some hispanic support if they came out hard against illegal immigration they are more likely going to gain it back and more from Independents and Democrats against it.

You've got to love the part where the White House is collecting money from the very companies that benefit most from illegal immigration to fund the campaign to ram their open borders policy down our throats.
To me, that appears to be borderline unethical, but with this WH it doesn't suprise me at all.
Bush is going to get his open borders policy made into law no matter what the cost. It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

So they're courting the hispanic vote...what's new? The approach...speaking to the 'angels'?? I'm not an angel...I don't go for the sob stories...WalMart et al can certainly afford to pay decent wages and treat their employees with a touch of respect. I'm a taxpayer, a voter and I won't forget those who voted to do things to hurt me and my country. I don't really care how many political coalitions they put together...I know what I saw when the votes were down...they voted against what they were paying lip service about.
I saw an interview with a Mexican woman--took place in Mexico at the Alcoa plant--she stated they were paid so little per day that she and her family were not even able to eat EVERY DAY. sheesh..as if Alcoa doesn't make profits in the billions. There was an Alcoa plant in a small east Texas town when I moved there...the employees were well paid...until the plant moved to Mexico which severely injured the economy of that little town.
The voracious demands of these corporations is embarrassing. No one guaranteed them megabillions in profits. Greed and avarice are the hallmark of the day, aided and abetted by the paid for politicians...whom I will NOT FORGET at the ballot box.

This shows even more of Bush's and the GOP's True Colors. Armey's comment about Tancredo showed what side of evil Armey's on--he is on the side of evil. If Armey doesn't understand that the Angels are the Americans...not always, but when it counts most....then he needs to jump on a empty tomato truck and back-haul his ass Mexico and stay there as an ex-patriot of the US...that is if he could ever prove he was Patriot to begin with.

I saw that segment also RR, did you notice they were threatening her that her job would be going to Central America where they make only 30 cents an hour. She was making something like 1.20 an hour.
I noticed they still live in those shacks of plywood and corrugated tin. Those are the same hovels they were showing a few years after NAFTA passed when they all went up to the border to work and live.
Alcoa's CEO's should all burn in HELL.

Does anyone besides me remember Alcoa's pre-NAFTA slogan (complete with catchy tune)?
"Alcoa Can't Wait"
It was only in hindsite that we realized what they couldn't wait for: trading well paid American employees for CHEAP Mexican labor. So cheap in fact, that Mexicans are stampeding our borders in record numbers.

In the elections of 2006..I only hope and pray that we show the gate to a bunch of these 'powerful politicians' as they label themselves. I hope to God WE show them where the POWER is.

bush
let them 'court & woo' the Latino/Hispanic crowed all they want til they are blue in the face. I have faxed, called, refaxed, and recalled the White House and every single representative I can. They are finally responding! They are all 'form letters', but I've gotten several letters 'as a representative for Pres Bush', and I even got some with the govenor of MD which looks like his original signature! And they all start out with 'immigration concern, this or that'. So I know I am getting somewhere, and that somehow I am making them think! Good or bad, they are hearing me! SO KEEP SENDING YOUR FAXES AND LETTERS, EMAILS, WHATEVER! MAKE THEM LISTEN!
RIP Butterbean! We miss you and hope you are well in heaven.-- Your ALIPAC friends
