Thread: Immigration Voice - Writing OUR reps for green cards!

It is useful to go on "the enemy's" sites to see what they are up to.

Here's an update from Immigration Voice, a group who lobbies our administration for green cards for "highly skilled immigrants" (H-1B, L-1, etc.) to replace even more experienced Americans in fields such as engineering, science, and medicine.

They have hired Patton Boggs, an American public affairs firm, to help them lobby OUR government to steal more of our middle class jobs.

Massive IV campaign for Administrative fixes

Dear Members,

Immigration Voice is starting a massive campaign to
get administrative relief for our community. We have
had several fruitful meeting with the administration
in 2007, some of these meetings were scheduled in
September, November and then in December. In these
meetings, we were able to convince the administration
about the implication and hardship due to current
broken system. Since Congress has not been able to
address our issues in 2006-07, we were successful in
creating a case for administrative fixes that would
give much needed interim relief to EB community. These
meetings helped us start a conversation on possible
administrative fixes like 3 year EAD-AP, clearly
defining “same or similarâ€

You'd think THEY were the aggrieved citizens, not us. THEIR lawmakers? Excuse me? Imagine how we'd look if we elbowed some foreigners out of their jobs over in their country, and began agitating their goverment for even more rights. What would they call us? "Ugly Americans" maybe? Mexico would totally kick us out. Down there it is utterly illegal for foreigers to try and influence the government in any way, shape, or form.
