Ingraham: ‘America That We Know and Love Doesn’t Exist Anymore’ in Some Parts of the Country

9 Aug 2018258Wednesday on her Fox News Channel show, Laura Ingraham reacted to Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) criticisms of the Democratic leadership that the socialist said is stuck in the 1990s, the era of “soccer moms” and Furbies.

“As if [Ocasio-Cortez] knows all of America from her loft in Queens,” Ingraham stated.

Ingraham then argued Ocasio-Cortez is “kind of right in a general sense.”

“Because in some parts of the country, it does seem like the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore,” she explained. “Massive demographic changes have been foisted upon the American people and they’re changes that none of us ever voted for and most of us don’t like. From Virginia to California, we see stark examples of how radically in some ways the country has changed. Now, much of this is related to both illegal and in some cases, legal immigration that, of course, progressives love.”

Ingraham continued, “Remember the old Democrats, maybe some of them that Ocasio-Cortez is referring to, they used to think that borders mattered. But the new activists believe enforcing immigration laws is essentially an ongoing human rights violation — of course, they want to abolish ICE and so forth.”

“The president can be so persuasive, so give us the whole truth, Mr. President, the good, the bad and yes, the uncomfortable. This is a national emergency and he must demand that Congress act now. There is something slipping away in this country and it’s not about race or ethnicity. It’s what was once a common understanding by both parties that American citizenship is a privilege, and one that at a minimum requires respect for the rule of law and loyalty to our constitution,” she concluded.

and here is what foul mouthed Scaramucci had to say about Ingraham's comments. When Trump surrounds himself with people with this viewpoint, and even selects them for positions like Communications Director how can we ever expect to end this immigration problem?

Scaramucci: Laura Ingraham’s ‘Ignorant’ Comments on Demographics Are ‘Un-American’

Thursday on CNN’s “Wolf,” former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said Fox News host Laura Ingraham’s commentary on the changing demographics in America were “ignorant.”

Scaramucci said, “You know, I’m super not not happy with that. I like her as a person, but if you remember Father Coughlin the 1930s, my grandparents certainly remember him, it’s the same rhetoric. It’s the same sentence structure. It’s the same level of xenophobia that my immigrant grandparents faced as Italian-Americans 70, 80 short years ago. I’m not in love with it. I love the concept of America, the great of experiment of our great republic. We really are as Lincoln said, the last best hope for mankind. We have our diversity. We get our strength from that diversity. One last point, Lee Kuan Yew once said about America, we have such a competitive advantage around the world because you can come to the United States as a Chinese or a German and become a German-American or a Chinese-American, but that’s not true going to those other countries. So that’s a huge competitive advantage that we have versus the rest of the world in terms of the intellectual capital.”

He continued, “I really wish she wouldn’t talk like that because it sounds ignorant, and it’s unfortunate, particularly if you know your grandparents’ immigration story or you yourself are an immigrant. I hope she walks it back. I hope she realizes that what she said is just not—it’s against the American values that she’s supposedly touting.”

He added, “I really think it’s un-American. By and large, most Americans are great people and they don’t like that sort of nonsense.”

Ingraham has previously dated broadcaster Keith Olbermann[84] and former New Jersey Democratic Senator Robert Torricelli.[85] In April 2005, she announced her engagement to Chicago businessman James V. Reyes, and that she had undergone breast cancer surgery. In May 2005, Ingraham told listeners that her engagement to Reyes was canceled, citing issues regarding her diagnosis with breast cancer.[86] She has also dated political commentator Dinesh D'Souza.[87]

She is a convert from the Baptist tradition to Roman Catholicism.[88] She has studied the Russian language.[89]

Ingraham, who has never married, is a single parent of three children: a girl from Guatemala whom she adopted in 2008;[90] a boy she adopted at 13 months in 2009; and another boy she adopted in 2011. Both of the boys are from Russia.[91]
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laura_Ingraham

Laura should have confined her remarks to stopping illegal immigration, deporting illegal aliens and reducing legal immigration. Most Americans are not anti-immigrant, most Americans are not opposed to naturalized citizenship. Americans are opposed to illegal immigration, immigration fraud, naturalization fraud, and excess immigration overall. Americans are also opposed to approving visas and green cards and other types of immigration documents for people whose customs, beliefs and political views do not conform with our civil rights and other laws.

People might also ask why did Laura bring 3 foreign children into the United States with state department issued citizenship "privilege" through the adoption process and "foist" them on the US. Some people might even wonder if people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I like Laura but I do not agree with her on everything and the way she phrased her remarks on the demographics of illegal immigration and legal immigration as if they were the same were "ignorant", and on that point, Scarramucci was correct.

Most Americans do not resent legal immigrants, we just think there are too many of them and that is not their fault, it is the fault of Congress for approving the issuance of over 1,000,000 green cards every year while Americans struggle to find full time work that sustains them and their own families, in addition to hundreds of thousands of student visas while Americans can't find a seat in college and hundreds of thousands if not millions of "shadow" documents for TPS, DACA, asylm-seekers, refugees and other programs that issue work permits and even welfare to foreigners who shouldn't even be in our country to begin with because we don't have the resources to support this level of population growth through immigration without cutting our own population growth, and that is wrong in every way, shape and form.

So for her to ask the President to start attacking legal immigrants was just bone-headed, he will never do that, nor should he. He wisely and appropriately attacks chain migration, excess green cards, visa lottery, illegal immigration, public charge immigration, immigration and naturalization fraud, phony asylum-seekers, unnecessary refugees, and those from dangerous countries.

Fox News Host Laura Ingraham Clarifies Remarks On Immigration

    by Bruce Haring
    August 9, 2018 8:40pm

Fox News host Laura Ingraham tonight attempted to clarify controversial remarks she made Wednesday on her show, The Ingraham Angle.

Ingraham said Wednesday that Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) criticisms of Democratic leadership as out of touch was off-base. But then she took it a bit further.

“Because in some parts of the country, it does seem like the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore,” Ingraham said.

Tonight, Ingraham attempted to clarify some of her remarks.

“I want to start tonight by addressing my commentary at the top of last night’s show,” she said. “A message to those who are distorting my views, including all white nationalists and especially one racist freak whose name I will not even mention. You do not have my support, you don’t represent my views and you are antithetical to the beliefs I hold dear.”

Ingraham continued: “The purpose of last night’s angle was to point out that the rule of law – meaning secure borders – is something that used to bind our country together. And despite what some may be contending – I made explicitly clear that my commentary had nothing to do with race or ethnicity, but rather a shared goal of keeping America safe, and her citizens safe and prosperous.”

Ingraham said that she wanted to make it clear that “my concern will continue to remain with the families who have suffered the tragic results of illegal immigration, the children put in dangerous and unfair situations at the border, and all those border agents around the country who work to keep our country safe.”

Laura, you can't say without regard to race and ethnicity, in the same statement where you're attacking the "demographic changes" "foisted" upon us in parts of our country that we can't know and love.

    Demographics includes race and ethnicity.

I'm glad she tried to clarify but it kind of went flat, just like her initial statement that started the little ruckus.

    Just get it right, Laura.

Leave it to Judy to call Ingram's statement "ignorant" and agree with Scarramucci.
