That's cause he and bush boy are buddy buddy! They've definitely got something up their sleeves! I have a gut feeling.

I truly believe that Chertoff is MORE than an amnesty backer.. I truly believe that he is one of the architects or "soldiers" to carry out the agenda of the NAU. How else can you explain that under his watch MORE ILLEGALS crossed the border --- YET more laws/fencing/increase agents were all at his disposal via new bills --- YET, they weren't instantiated..

How else can you explain it?
How else can you explain a total disregard to laws to protech america's sovereignty?

It has always kinda been in the corner of my mind, now it is getting stronger that the fence is a smokescreen. I have no problem with it - but we cannot put all our hopes on a fence.

We enforcement here. If they would enforce the laws against illegal employers and despite what you have seen, they aren't doing it, folks.
Enforce the laws about false documents. If we had a fake SS#, Dl, etc., we'd be in the pokey before sundown.

If the employers can't work the illegals, the illegals will go home.

Then get more men/women on the border and turn them loose. The ones that are down there are hamstrung. Let them do the job they were trained to do.

And start the fence - but these other things are going to do more to solve the problem than the fence.

    Just my opinion.

I hope you're not questioning Hunter's integrity on this. He's doing all he can to ensure that fence gets built. He's constantly fighting with the Bush administration and Chertoff over the issue. Unfortunately we're never going to get control of the illegal immigration problem unless we get control over our borders. We can have all the interior enforcement we want, however, what good does it do when the illegals are allowed to reenter the country at their leisure. We must block their path of entry and the Hunter fence is a good beginning. Of course it's understood that the fence is just a piece to the puzzle, but IMO it's an important piece that can't be overlooked.

Hunter's double layered border fence includes interlocking cameras, lights, sensors, and a high speed road between layers. It's not a single stand alone fence like we often times see in the news.

mwI don't know much, really anything, about Duncan Hunter.

Where has he been all this time?

How many times has he gone on TV in the last 25 years and decried illegal immigration?

How many times has he written op-ed pieces in the last 25 years?

How many Town Hall meetings has he held to talk with people and make them aware of the dangers of this - in the last 25 years?

I am grateful for everyone who has stepped forward in the last year or so - but I always wonder - where were then when this thing was getting a foothold? Being from CA, he should have been screaming louder than anyone - except maybe our very own Texas lawmakers. We should realize their allegiances lie elsewhere.

Actually, I wasn't 'questioning specifically anyone's integrity' in my post - I was questioning the integrity of the idea and if the politicians truly want to do something about this.

But I do always question the integrity of any politician. It is an absolute necessary thing to do. It is a survival mechanism.

The fence alone, even with all the sensors, etc., will not do the job unless they get serious about enforcing laws inside the US. The longer they stay, the more babies they have. As long as they have jobs, freebies, they will stay, will increase, and will become more and more a danger to this country.

Yes, the fence will slow some down - and I agree with the fence, but it isn't the end all - it is only one tool - and I'm all for it. The fact there is so much emphasis being put on the fence, bothers me. It just makes me wonder if it isn't misdirection.

Fighting the good fight. He's been working against illegal immigration and for border security for years. Check out the bills he's sponsored and cosponsored since being elected to Congress. I imagine there are a lot of people living outside Texas and Colorado that hadn't heard of of Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo until they started campaigning for the presidency. Most people are not big on associating a name with each individual in the U.S. Congress unless they've had a personal experience with the person or have him/her as a representative or senator.

That's an odd question to ask me, I'm not married to the guy and I'm certainly not his keeper.

Perhaps you should write him and inquire. While doing that, maybe you could send a letter to Tancredo and Paul making the same inquiry. Of course that is assuming you don't know exactly how many town meetings they've attended, op-ed pieces they've written, or how many times they've been on TV (sorry, I couldn't resist).

As I said, Hunter has been fighting the issue for years. Honestly, do a little research and you'll see. Heck, I think it was almost 14 years ago that he started action on the San Diego border fence. I knows he's been repeatedly requesting more border patrol agents in his region of responsibility for many years.
