IRS EITC Refunds To Illegals Show Obama Amnesty Fraud

    02/05/2015 06:58 PM ET

Immigration: Aliens granted executive amnesty by President Obama will be eligible for tax credits for the years they worked here illegally. But wasn't amnesty supposed to benefit the economy and not drain the U.S. Treasury?

Subverting the Constitution to grant millions of illegal aliens work permits and freedom from deportation apparently isn't enough for the Obama administration. It now intends, through the Internal Revenue Service, to subvert the tax code to let these illegals collect billions in retroactive Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) payments.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, an unindicted co-conspirator in the cover-up of the IRS Tea Party targeting by Lois Lerner, confirmed Tuesday in a hearing before the Senate Finance Committee that an illegal alien who filed tax returns using Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) will be eligible to amend the returns for the three prior years to collect the EITC once he or she obtains a valid Social Security number.

The IRS requires everyone employed in the U.S., whether here legally or not, to file tax returns. Since illegals aren't supposed to have a Social Security number, the IRIS created the ITIN, a nine-digit number for them to file under.

By statute, ITIN filers aren't eligible for the EITC. But they've been able to collect billions of dollars through the Additional Child Tax Credit, which presumably is why they've been bothering to file returns. The ACTC is a fully refundable credit of up to $1,000 per child to help working families who have children at home.

Problem is, that home may not be here, but back in Mexico, and the children claimed are often nieces and nephews in what are often rather large extended families. An investigation done in 2012 by NBC affiliate WTHR in Indianapolis found four workers claiming 20 children living in one residence, with the IRS sending these aliens tax refunds totaling $29,608. The children did not in fact reside in the United States.

In 2011, Russell George, the now famous (as a result of the Tea Party targeting scandal) IRS inspector general, issued a report saying that this loophole, which the Obama administration has no intention of closing, was costing the American taxpayer some $4.2 billion a year.

Now the IRS and the Obama administration want these illegal aliens to drain the U.S. Treasury further by making them eligible to collect additional billions from the EITC. Rather than contributing to the U.S. economy, they're bleeding it dry and sending much of their ill-gotten gains back to Mexico in the form of remittances. Total remittances sent back to Mexico totaled $22 billion in 2013, according to the Pew ResearchCenter.

They're knowingly and with conspiracy handing out taxpayer revenue to people who they know are ineligible to be in the United States under US immigration law let alone collect money from the IRS for being here. What's the difference between this and embezzlement?

    em·bez·zle·ment

    əmˈbezəlmənt/

    noun
    noun: embezzlement; plural noun: embezzlements
theft or misappropriation of funds placed in one's trust or belonging to one's employer.
Gee, lookey there, there isn't any difference. Do we have any lawyers or former prosecuting attorneys working in our Congress and Justice Department or serving on our Courts? Golly, I think we do. Soooooo, I wonder why they haven't already done something about this?

TurboTax halts all state tax filings because of fraud concerns

    POSTED 3:28 PM, FEBRUARY 6, 2015, BY KFOR-TV, UPDATED AT 03:34PM, FEBRUARY 6, 2015

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — The popular TurboTax software has temporarily stopped processing state tax refund filings in all states after reports of fraud increased.

    Photo: Courtesy TurboTax

Reports of an increase in suspicious filings came from a “small handful of states” this week. The company has stopped processing the forms in all states as it investigates the problem, said Julie Miller, a spokeswoman from TurboTax owner Intuit.

About 29 million people used TurboTax to file their tax returns last year.

Intuit systems have not been breached, according to a preliminary investigation from third-party security expert Palantir.

Instead, criminals may be using identity information (like a Social Security number) that was stolen from somewhere else to file fake returns and collect refunds.

In Minnesota, for example, some taxpayers recently logged into TurboTax, and saw that a return has already been filed under their name.

Miller declined to name the other states that have seen an increase in suspicious activity. But both Alabama and Utah said Thursday that they also have discovered thousands of suspicious filings this year.

Nineteen states in total have identified similar problems, according to the Utah Tax Commission.

“Unfortunately, the bad guys have a lot of places to get information,” Miller said.

Just this week, insurance giant Anthem was hit by a massive data breach, where information such as names, birthdays, medical IDs, social security numbers, street addresses, e-mail addresses and employment information may have been stolen.

TurboTax did not stop processing federal tax refund filings, said Julie Miller. Those forms have more stringent fraud controls, put in place by the IRS over the past.

Despite the suspension, people can keep preparing their state returns via TurboTax.

Intuit stopped processing electronic state returns Thursday afternoon and said it will store them securely until it can resume doing so.

It was unclear Friday afternoon if the problems are more likely to happen when using the free version of TurboTax, Miller said.

H&R Block, another tax preparer, said Friday that it is not having similar problems with state returns.

Intuit customers who believe they are victims of tax fraud can call 800-944-8596 for help. TurboTax said it will prepare taxes for affected customers for free, and provide identity protection services and free credit monitoring.

How will people using this software ever know if and when they're victims of fraud? Unless you know the tax system better than the software, I don't see how you would. Same with these tax filing companies, how do you know what they're doing with your information or if they're even filing your taxes or someone else's right? Again, unless you know the system better than they do, how would you know one way or the other? These softwares and tax filers are responsible for processing most of the returns that result in the EITC being wrongfully and unlawfully issued to people who aren't eligible for it, people here in violation of US immigration law working illegally, earning illegally, filing for refunds illegally when they didn't pay any tax. The whole income tax system is a mess wrought with fraud, discrimination, violations and corruption. Why anyone would prefer it over consumption or sales taxes is totally beyond me.

If you attempt to file your taxes and the I.R.S. says your taxes have already been filed you know you were a victim of fraud.

In Minnesota, for example, some taxpayers recently logged into TurboTax, and saw that a return has already been filed under their name.

If you get your refund check from the I.R.S. you know they filed your taxes. If you don't, you and the I.R.S. start checking into the missing tax return. You show the I.R.S. your receipt and/or canceled check for the tax preparation and they want an explanation from the tax preparer.

If you get a nasty letter, or a nice letter, from the I.R.S. about mistakes in your tax filling you know they got it and it wasn't done right. Then the I.R.S. goes after them for doing their work wrong.

The I.R.S. once sent me a letter saying there was a mistake in my tax paperwork.
They corrected the mistake the C.P.A. had made and sent me a larger refund check than I was expecting.

I went back to the C.P.A. and demanded, and got, a full refund.
I told him I could have done my taxes incorrectly for free so I sure wasn't going to pay him to do them incorrectly.

More than $5 billion, with a B: that’s how much the IRS estimates it mistakenly paid to identity thieves last year, according to a new study from the Government Accountability Office. The thieves filed fraudulent tax returns on behalf of unsuspecting citizens, and the IRS didn’t catch the fraud until after long after the refund checks had been sent. The only good news? It could have been a lot more money. The IRS estimates it identified and stopped another $24.2 billion in attempted fraud — but the agency acknowledges it’s hard to calculate the full extent of the problem.
Still, the danger could be growing: As recently as 2010, tax- and wage-related identity theft made up just 16% of all ID-theft complaints at the Federal Trade Commission. Last year that portion rose to 43%. Below are four more common ways ID thieves can strike — and what you can do to protect yourself.
It looks like it's a growing problem, rising in just 3 years from 16% in 2010 to 43% in 2013 of all ID-theft complaints at the Federal Trade Commission. And now all these states having problems for returns for last year. I've always used CPA's, but they're expensive and it's a lot of work just gathering up all the information they need to do the returns. Personally, I hate it and always have, so that's another reason I love the FairTax which does away with all this. Under the FairTax, all anyone is left with to do is if you're a retail business, filing the monthly gross sales report with the states including the FairTax which is calculated from the same gross sales information the states use and is reported on the same form once a month, plus the FairTax system pays the retail business a pretty nice fee for collecting the tax in this manner. It's such a superior system in my view for so many reasons.
