Fox News At Facebook Meeting Is Misdirection: Murdoch and Zuckerberg Are Deeply Connected Over Immigration

Should you be surprised that Fox News contributors would go and meet with Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook today? No. Not least because the links between Mr. Zuckerberg and Rupert Murdoch – while unreported – are very clear.

Mr. Murdoch is one of the co-Chairmen of an organisation called Partnership for a New American Economy (PNAE), which published a series of articles in the Washington Times on the subject of “immigration reform”.

PNAE says its principles include the aim of “secur[ing] our borders and prevent[ing] illegal immigration”, but at the same time publishing masses of pro-immigration propaganda and urging a lowering of barriers for legal immigration into the United States.

The group lists as its signatories people like Lloyd C. Blankfein (Goldman Sachs), James Dimon (JPMorgan Chase), Joe Uva (ex-Univision), Rahm Emanuel, and you guessed it: Mark Zuckerberg.

PNAE plans involve a “streamlined process” for immigration, “establish[ing] a path to legal status for the undocumented currently living in the United States”. Their plans also include “educational classes to immigrants”.

PNAE’s website is called “Renew Our Economy”, and has published reports entitled: “The Growing Need for Bilingual Workers in New Jersey’s Economy”, and “The Shortage of Physicians in America’s Rural Counties and How Foreign-Born Doctors can Help” while a press release from PNAE appeared to welcome U.S. President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration, claiming that “President Obama’s comments today underline the urgency for immigration reform, but Administrative action alone will not solve this critical issue”.

The organisation’s blog includes posts such as “Why Immigrants Are to Thank For Your Favorite Horror Movies” and “Immigrant Entrepreneur Named “Engineer of the Year””.

And the group lists “FWD.us” as a “partner” organisation. FWD.us is a left-wing pro-immigration group chaired by Facebook’s Zuckerberg and Bill Gates.

The two groups, PNAE and FWD.us, issued a press release declaring their clambering into bed with one another in 2014. They co-launched the #IAmImmigration website, with Mr. Murdoch penning an article in his own Wall Street Journal which began by lamenting the election loss of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.

It said: “The Partnership for a New American Economy, a bipartisan group of political and business leaders, reports that people who moved here from abroad or their children founded more than 40% of America’s Fortune 500 companies—businesses that collectively employ millions of people.

The #IAmImmigration website also links to endless pro mass immigration articles and website from across the United States. These include “So many hotels, so few employees“, and a link to the powerful lobby group and aptly URL’d group (www.fb.org) American Farm Bureau Federation.

The groups all stress the need for more workers for farms, construction, and for hotels.

Signatures to the PNAE’s activities are tied to major U.S. corporations and industries, including Johnny Barnes of the Farmpak and Barnes Farming companies, as well as Jon Wyss from the Okanogan County Farm Bureau, and Debbi Harrison, Global Officer Marriott Culture and Business Councils, Marriott International.

As Breitbart News has previously reported, PNAE’s chairmen include Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch, Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer, former Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg, and Bill Marriott of the Marriott Hotels group.

The group also boasts an article entitled: “GOP donors praise Jeb Bush for stance on immigration“ which states: “The [Jeb Bush] call was arranged by the Partnership for a New American Economy, a Republican bipartisan, pro-business group that has tried to push for reform”.

PNAE’s sister group – Republicans for Immigration Reform, wrote to Members of Congress in 2014 stating: “As demand for local produce goes up, American production goes down because our farmers don’t have the workers they need to harvest, leaving us to import more fruits and vegetables”.

So why would Fox News be keen for its anchors to attend meetings with Mr. Zuckerberg? Because their bosses are already in business together. Dana Perino acting like she’s doing something extraordinary by entertaining Facebook’s meeting is pure misdirection.
