Joint Effort Leads to Stash House Disruption

Release Date: August 7, 2020

MISSION, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol partners with the Hidalgo County Constables Office (HCCO) Precinct 4 to stop stash house operations in north Mission.

Yesterday morning, Rio Grande Valley Sector agents, working in conjunction with the HCCO, responded to a home in Mission, Texas, suspected of operating as a human smuggling stash house. Upon arrival, agents observed a vehicle leave the residence and, with the assistance of a HCCO deputy, conducted a vehicle stop.

Prior to the stop, agents and deputies observed the vehicle drop off two subjects on the side of the road.

While speaking with the driver, he admitted there were illegal aliens inside his home. Furthermore, agents detained the subjects that were dropped off and determined they were illegally present in the United States. Inside the residence, agents and deputies discovered an additional two illegal aliens. Agents arrested all subjects and transported them to the station for further processing.

Border Patrol processed the case accordingly.

The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and report suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation. The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.
