Joint Enforcement Actions Shut Down Multiple Criminal Undertakings

LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Webb County Constables Office Pct. 2 (WCCO) shut down multiple criminal undertakings in Laredo.

The first incident began during the mid-morning of July 29, when Laredo South Station agents and WCCO deputies conducted a search of a possible stash house at the 400 block of Main Street. The search revealed two individuals inside the home. One individual was from Mexico in the United States illegally. He was placed under arrest by U.S. Border Patrol. The other individual, a U.S. citizen and owner of the residence, was taken into custody by WCCO for possession of a stolen firearm and 3.5 ounces of marijuana.

The second incident occurred later that afternoon when agents from the Laredo North and South Stations, the WCCO, and HSI Special Agents conducted a welfare check at a local hotel room at the 4900 block of San Bernardo Avenue. Upon entering the room, the agents discovered three Mexican nationals who were illegally present in the United States. They were taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol pending further investigation.

Despite the ongoing international pandemic, U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Laredo Sector continue to stand at the ready to secure the nation’s borders, prevent the smuggling and dealing of drugs, stop dangerous criminal activity, and slow the spread of COVID-19.
