Juárez police and Mexican federal agents seized high-powered rifles, ammo and drugs during a raid of a safe house, officials said.
Police officials said that the seizure was made Tuesday evening after a resident reported suspicious activity at a home in the upper middle class Pradera Dorada neighborhood. There were no arrests.

Police seized 13 firearms - a .50-caliber rifle, six assault rifles, a sub-machine gun and five handguns. They also seized ammunition, military-style tactical clothing, drug-packaging materials and more than four pounds of cocaine, eight pounds of marijuana and a quarter-ounce of methamphetamine.

The case was separate from Tuesday's seizure of 268,000 rounds of ammo found in a semi-truck entering Juárez at the Bridge of the Americas. This year Juárez police, according to officials, have seized 168 firearms (including 120 handguns) as well as a grenade launcher and five grenades.
