Just finished a great book on the illegal alien crisis.
"Crisis on the Border" by Matt Pinsker. He spent 6 months as a prosecuting attorney handling immigration cases in Laredo TX. It's a small book but has lots of info. Here are some highlights
page 38 The Mexican cartels have secured the border more than the Border Patrol has. The cartels won't let anyone cross unless they pay a fee of around $8,000 so few try to do it on their own. If they are caught, the cartel kills them.
page 44 The Rio Grande has phony "fishermen" every mile or so along it's banks on both sides. No one actually fishes the Rio since it is so putrid. They are cartel spies making sure no one crosses without paying the cartel fees
page 66 Mexico tries to stop central americans from crossing into mexico and then into america but it's not because they want to help america. The central americans compete with mexicans for jobs in america and mexico wants that remittance money.
