King calls on states to pressure feds to deport illegal immigrants
    Wednesday, July 18, 2007, 1:30 AM
    By O.Kay Henderson
Republican Congressman Steve King says it's time for states to pressure the feds to enforce immigration laws.

According to King, the federal government is failing to uphold the U.S. Constitution when it fails to eject illegal immigrants from the country. "The constitutional right is protection from invasion and protection from domestic violence in article 4, section 4 of the constitution," King says.

King contends that means states have the right to ask the federal government to act and start deporting illegal immigrants, some of whom King says are drug dealers, rapists and murderers. "The state legislatures can petition the executive branch -- the White House -- for protection from invasion or protection against domestic violence and they can do that, or the governor can do that if the legislature can't be convened," King says. "...I don't think anyone's explored that yet."

Since congress appears to be deadlocked over immigration reform, King plans to talk with leaders of state legislatures around the country to try to get states to force the issue. "I went back and read through some Federalist Papers and they support that concept," King says.

King says he doubts the Iowa Legislature would take such action because Democrats control a majority of seats. He says it may take a Republican majority to pass such a resolution calling upon the federal government to send agents into Iowa to evict illegal immigrants.

I'll have to go chase down the source, but I have caught mention of another idea by Rep King to change one fairly simple administrative aspect of current Federal bureaucracy/law:

Simply require, in law, the IRS and the SSA (Soc. Sec. Admin.) to share information. I realize there are likely folks which will be against this in principle, but, this simple change would do a lot to identify bogus or abused SSNs and related fraud and abuse.

I used to think that King was part of the Bush crew, but I see now that he is genuine.

Democrat v. Republican or Patriot v. Globalist?

Is this really a lockstep Democrat v. Republican issue?
Didn't a number of Democrats vote against cloture for S.1639?
On the other hand, what about otherwise-Republican Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham?

I see this as the textbook Patriot v. Globalist issue.
One man's terrorist is another man's undocumented worker.

Unless we enforce laws against illegal aliens today,
tomorrow WE may wake up as illegals.

The last word: illegal aliens are ILLEGAL!

HEY MINUTEMAN CDC, I watched the vote on that lousey bill, and it was mostly Dems voting for it along with 6 Republicans. Go to loudobbs.com to see a record of the vote.

In addition, those lousey democrats are trying to hoist a 13.6% tax increase on us, that's $3000 per American family to pay for these illegals. I watched the House debate the appropriation bills with my own eyes and ears, and the Republicans stalled for 3 days to try to force those Dems to stick to their promise of transparency about earmarks. Stop listening to those socialist/marxist news readers! They are lying and protecting these traitors who want to steal our country!

I'LL SAY IT AGAIN - THEY WANT TO CAUSE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE SO WE WILL ACCEPT NAU. GO AND READ IT FOR YOURSELF:

But what about the fact this President is supposed to be a Republican and the Republicans have had plenty of power in Washington for some time and nothing is being done. This President is the one who has been pushing this since his election. He is the one that has kept the border open, and hamstrung the BP - even to persecuting agents who do their job.

As long as we can't see any farther than one's supposed party affiliation, we are going to go nowhere.

They are all working together. So we got some to see it our way - this time. At least they realized it was in their best interest to do so. (I hope) We have a 90% encumbency rate. These people have been up there for a long, long time. They could have done something before it got this bad.

I beg you and everyone else to stop being fooled by party labels. They are just there for our benefits. These are just assigned roles for them to play.

We have to stop taking party sides and start looking at the canidate themselves, you can not hardly tell the Republicans from the Demacrates anymore, we have to watch them and when one does something against the American people we have to do all in out power to get them out, no matter their affiliation.
