American economic leaders such as mega-rich industrialist brothers Charles and David Koch and moguls Sam Walton, Bill Gates, Michael Bloomberg and Warren Buffett are on an al-Qaida magazine's lone-wolf hit list, NBC News reports.

The chilling threat list in the terror group's Inspire magazine also included Internet entrepreneur Larry Ellison, casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, economist Robert Shiller, and former Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke – though not his successor, Janet Yellen, NBC reports.

According to NBC News, the hit-list article begins with photos showing some of the targets' blood-spattered pictures next to a dripping gun, and then trumpets a goal of derailing the "revival of the America Economy."

"Economic personalities" and "wealthy entrepreneurs" can get de-listed by taking their wealth out of U.S. banks and investing outside America — and denouncing support for Israel, the terror magazine states.

"There is compelling evidence from the Boston Marathon bombings and other various thwarted terror plots that homegrown jihadists have specifically looked to the magazine for guidance on what targets to attack — and have taken that advice quite literally," counterterrorism analyst Evan Kohlmann tells NBC News.

Inspire magazine is published online by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula and was once edited by American-raised jihadi Samir Khan, who was killed in 2011 drone attack along with cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, NBC News notes.

NBC News reports the threat is the second time at last that U.S. financial leaders have been targeted by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula. Inspire 13, issued in late December 2014, also included Bernanke and Gates as potential targets, NBC News reports.
